    Default Editing ships' hull strength

Hi there, I'm fairly new to modding and decided to try editing the ship stats to my liking - ship hull strength in particular.

I've downloaded PFM and found 'Unit_stats_naval' but I'm not sure which entry (or entries) affects hull hp. There's one entry, an 'unknown' before the column full of 'steam, propellor, Hull_' entries, which I thought was the correct column, but I'm not sure. Something Darth of Darthmod said in response to a query I made regarding hull hp in his mod suggested otherwise.

    Can anyone help me?

It's the Unknown one after Unknown98 and before the Unknown with steam, propellor, Hull_iron as an example. There is a another hull value, but it does not do anything.

If you want to make naval battles more interesting, I suggest also lowering accuracy and tone down fires. After a while, medium to high XP ships have "homing rounds". Or so it seems. Never miss, which is little fun.

Ah, ok, thought so. Thanks very much! I do wish there was a bit more information about what all those columns are.

Look in kv_rules and search for the naval_incendiary_projectile_chance entries, there are five of them. I've set them to zero. Also you can edit ship_chance_of_fire_rain_multiplier , ship_combustion_rain_multiplier and ship_on_fire_combustion_modifier. I have them at 0.2, 0, 0.2 respectively. There are also other values, but these will do.

Ships will still catch fire, but not so frequently. I first tried to just lower the numbers in the first set of variables but it did not seem to do any difference either way as the ships caught fire at more or less the same rate. Oddly enough, setting them to 0 made ships catch fire once in a while. And ships do still explode. Ships close to explosion will have a high chance of catching fire, which would be normal.

to edit the hull strength you should look from unknown41-60 in unit_stats_naval.
