    Icon9 Family tree bug

Dunno if this is a Medieval II bug, Kingdoms or specifically Stainless Steel one, but I got this problem.

My all-conquering king will die soon, and I want to do all the necessary bureaucracy for such cases, as in, killing his sucessors if it doesn't fit for a good king. The problem is that I have a strange bug with the family tree. It bothered me a bit before, but know I need to know who would the prince if I kill the current one.

    Edited for future AAR

As you can see, for some reason it shows an uncomplete, dead Genoese family tree. I guess it could be related, since my this bug started when the faction of Genova died, and my king is half (or a quarter, know I can't remember) Genoese.

Can it be fixed, or avoided for future saves? Do I have to change some file or edit something?

Sorry for dobleposting, but nobody answered and this forum doesn't let me edit. The thing is, I found this using the forum searcher

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=96588

It's seems that this bug is fixed in 1.5 medieval. Can I install the patch without problems otherwise for my Stainless Steel 6.3?

Eidt: I already downloaded and upraged my medieval to 1.5, but the bug in the family tree is still keeping me from choosing a heir. Does it only work to prevent that bug from appearing in new saves and is this one already doomed?

This is not a bug, your heir is of the bloodline of another faction, he is a general or descendant of a general from a faction other than you

Its pretty much this I believe. I'm almost certain this is not a bug since the Byzantines have something like this right off the bat (As in another family might take power under certain circumstances).

How can something that makes me unable to see my own family tree not be a bug?

And yeah, as I said, my king's father (and I guess that my king, too) were also Genova's faction leader once the venetians destroyed the rest of their family members. But after that faction disappears, I can't see my family tree anymore.

    Bumping dead threads is evil.

    Double posting is evil.

    I'm doing both.

Seriously though, how can I fix this bug? I've heard that it fixes over time, when you faction here is not from the bloodline of another faction. Sadly, my non-mixed branches all died. Can't it be fixed? Can I see the family tree in comically confusing .txt from in the .sav? Is there any kind of .sav editor tan can remove the genose blood of my faction heir? Anything?

I'm planning to write about this game soon, and I would have a lot of problems without a family tree.

But I don't understand. I know my heir was a stolen Genoese guy, does this completley break my family tree? What use does this have? Can I fix this or indirectly tell which are my faction members, who adopted who, who married who, etc.? Or is it broken forever?

I thought it was a bug because the 1.5 patch talks about solving this situation or something really similar.

Actually now that I think about it, it might actually be a bug since you should at least be able to see the second lines family members...

These two are the Doge of Genoa and his dead wife. Not initial, historical footnote ancestros either, but the actual in-game ones. My family tree broke when that faction, my allies, got extict by the venetians. My king was a general stolen to the Genoese by a princess, so he was the king of what was left of Genoa until it collapsed and Aragon at the same time. His sucessor has his genoese blood, and there are two dead lines in the second generation (Jaume, the initial king, being the first) and another one, also a Genoese marriage (they were close and I wanted to produce many generals).

To this point there are like four of five generations in my family tree, and I see none. If you look at the year, this has nothing to do with the initial dead part of the family tree, IIRC late eras don't have it.
