Modding unit upkeep
I've spent hours and hours trying to modify unit upkeep in the unit table, which I found in the game's data file using the pack file manager. I changed all of the unit's upkeep, and saved a copy of the table in the data folder in packfile format. I started the game and nothing changed. I also tried creating a modified version of the data file and loading that as a mod. Neither worked.
My aim is to create a mod that lowers all units upkeep, in particular samurai and elite shogun 2 units.
eg. the new upkeep for oda spear ashigaru was 35, whereas naginata samurai and spear samurai had an upkeep cost of 100. Overall, I thought that the campain rellied too much on ashigaru spamming
If anyone knows how I can change unit upkeep with the pack file manager, I'd be grateful for any help you can give me. Hoping that I don't need to learn hex.

Re: Modding unit upkeep
create a mod using the pack file manager and add the units_tables directory from the latest patch. then change the stats in the pack file mod and then change the mod type to a movie.
