Pike and crossbow?

After messing around a bit with the teutonic order, I realized something: Can the much vaunted pike and shot formation work with crossbows too?
I simply placed cbows rather than muskets in front of the pikes
After some testing, I still can't make up my mind. Can anyone give their opinions on this formation?

yes it can also work with pavise xbows.

the tercio is highly flexible it can deal with any cav and they can also defeat other infantry if you stack 2 pikes on top eachother 3 rows deep then the enemy infantry will not reach you sence you got 6 pikes up front.

using xbows to defeat the enemy missle.

beware of flank attacks tho so use swords to deal with that and haliberds to support your heavy cav.
