My best campaign was with the germans. At first I played very passive and as a result I saw a big host of Macedonians at my doorstep. They conquered the entire east and thus disabling me of any use of archers (the wudumanoz). I rallyed my troops and launched an invasion that succeded only in sacking the Macedonian cities all the way from the Baltics to Macedonia. But when my armies became weak I was made to retreat and fight of another great threat that proved fatal in the end, the Romans. After they conqured the lands south of mine and all of Gaul, the legions came after me. My economy and military were broken because of the unsuccesfull invasion and I barely could hold the Romans at bay. Then after about 30 turns of defence I finally lost. The Romans took all my border cities and went for my capital. In despair I gatheres all my armies and put them in my fleets. After tiresome job of avoiding the Roman fleets, I managed to land my forces on the shores of Britannia which was owned by rebels. I conqured the entire island but my homeland was in ruin. I remained in Britannia for about 50 turns, licking my wounds. I knew that attacking the Romans at this time would be suicide so I went along another road. I landed vast armies from Britannia in Africa and invaded Carthage. The Carthaginians fell after a long and exhausting war. Now Britannia and Africa was in my hands. After regaining my wealth I started recruiting vast armies. I had about half a million denari which I spent entirely on recruitment. Then the hell broke loose. I landed my huge invading force on the shores of Italy, Greece and small supporting forces on the north in Gaul simply to keep the Romans busy there. In the first battle I managed to sack Rome and soon the entire italy fell. In Greece my forces had a little trouble but that problem faded as the Roman economy started suffering a serious downfall. The war that started in Italy ended in the Middle East when the last Roman settlement Antiochia fell. Later on I fought the Ptolemaic empire but by then i was the far most strongest faction in the world and I couldn't be touched anymore. Eventually the whole known world was mine and the long Odyssey of the Germans ended in total victory.
