Questions about the standard campaign

I plan to buy a FOTS, I also want to play the standard campaign (S2)
Do I need to buy a standard campaign?

Yes, you would need to have the original S2 game to play the vanilla campaign.

FotS is standalone, wouldn't think so by the way they've packaged it though.

To play Sengoku you need Shogun 2. To play RotS you need both Shogun 2 and RotS DLC. To play FOTS you only need FOTS.
