Default Low-quality Campaign Map Screens E3

Browsing through some german forums, because of the video containing Campaign Map Scenes I stumbled across this thread here

    http://www.activision.de/new_forum/i...T&f=14&t=2641&

by our fellow forumite Filusi. So all thanks go to him respectively Eagleeyesix who has hosted those screens in the www.rome.tommesd.de forums.

    Enjoy!
And keep in mind that as CA didn't want to publish Campaign Map Screenshots yet and those Scenes were probably filmed at E3, the Campaign Map is far from final and those screenshots are very probably work in progress!

Well what was wrong with the RTW campaign map? At least they didnt decide to make a new one of the same qauility as Alexander.

The colours are too damn perfect... maybe a retexturing should be in order (I really like the way the RTR 7.0 map looks like)...

And I hope that with the small changes in graphics and appearance evident up to now there shall be ubber improvements in AI and diplomacy...

Though they look very similar to Rome's, the Crusades and Papal Standing screens seemed interesting!

    :original: About time!

Doesn't look too different from Rome actually - just taller mountains.

And I'm still waiting to see America.

Lol bad quality it was indeed, but nice to see some shots of the campaign. Wanted that for long, not to different from Rome, I don't mind..

Well look fine, nothing special, just like Rome but i would be happy with that map.

So it's just the RTW map with slightly flashier graphics and steeper, taller mountains? Well, I suppose these are early days. Maybe we'll see an improvement.

Hmm, they have to improve it, otherwise they're building up anticipation when they shouldn't! Though I do like the information scrolls...

Well, I guess every relic still has worshippers.

Personally I prefer RTW map FAR more. And I don't mind if M2TW uses more or less the same map, as long as it uses the terrain to it's advantage both on the strategic and tactical level.

Hmm, still looks too cartoony for my tastes...make it dark, make it grim!

I totally agree with u, i loved the dark and gloomy map of M:tw, gave the game a real sence of atmosphere.
What i think there tryin to go for now is a feel that your watchin this all from space, so its like a " world map" but sadly i dont think they have pulled this off.

why didn't we hear any of this stuff DURING E3!
Knight_yellow i think wat hsimoorb means is y didnt a magazine report this at E3 or y didnt our ppl at E3 give us some heads up about this instead and not askin y CA hasnt spilt all the beans yet .

I tell you, it's not the final map. Didn't they said that towns and city would be on the map on a more natural way? Unlike in Rome Total War.
I think ca just meant durin battle maps and not nessesaryly the campaign map.

    YES! I agree...

It's to brightly colored for a period in European history filled with wars, death, plague and the like..

"Grim" would deff help the atmosphere of any medieval setting and be more accurate..

I hope we don't see any troops in hot pink or luminous green either!
