    Default Sassanids overpowered...

    Hello people...

I would like to ask whether is there any way to increase the turns that are required to create the Sassaind Savarans... It is a bit unrealistic playing as ERE I have to face full stacks of deadly Savarans on my eastern borders... I can beat them with comitatenses armatus but I cannot replenish the losses easily... Is there any way to increase the number of turns from 1 to 3 for example needed for the Savaran recruitment...

    Thanks...

Yes, go to ibfd/data and look for the file named export_descr_unit.txt and look up the Savaran unit. Then go to the line that says stat_cost and edit the first number in that line, which represents the turns it take to recruit it.

But copy the file before editing it in case something goes wrong.

My interpretation of it is that the frase you used is still repeated over and over everywhere in the style of parrot. But it is probably only my misinterpretation

It would be very appreciated if you stop that non-topic chatter

Return to the topic and because I am curious, what would you like to see the Sassanians in-game?

If it's possible, make each end of the empire ruled by one great house, and then have at least one unique unit for that house (only recruitable in its capital). Like Sassan retainers, Mihran retainers, Karen retainers, Suren retainers, etc.

Playng always the Romans , your question is hard for me, Constantius will be more detailed, ...anyway I would like to see more second rank cataphract Horse Archers!

I do not belive much in the full charge against formed infantry! IMO the Sassanian tactic was much more effective than the brutal frontal charge of the medieval European knights! A long prolonged arrows' fire then some charges, that could stop before the contact, if the enemy do not broke for the fear, then fire,... then charges, and so on.....until the final letal shock charge! A refined and complex strategy, for experienced Extra Heavy Cavalry.

This is my personal picture of the Persian use of Cataphracts and IMHO the numbers and types of cataphract Horse Archers are somehow under represented,.......so,.. and here as a good Roman, I fear even the sound of my words : I would see more Persian Cataphract Horse Archers Units!

Ah,forgetting! And again I fear what I'm saying! More regional differentiation in the troops' choices!

In the book series "Warrior of Rome" , Harry Sidebottom has several Roman oficers believing that horses will refuse to charge a compact and organized infantry line. Its an interesting point of view that may explain the "why" of the sassanid cavalry tactics.
