hello what do you guys think of a dlc that makes the french english and americans playable and mabey more like chinees and dutch im not sure but i think dutch where there to trade and chinees even fought in the war

No tbh I'd prefer more unique Japanese units and stuff, modding is adding TONS more Western Units

Expanding the campaign map? Maybe the Choseon and the Qing.
BUT WESTERN? Good god no. No. No. (Maybe I'll conced maybe a trade enclave here and there.)

No for western factions, but more units yes.

You can already play as westerners. You have their units in your armies. Other than that, it would be silly to play as the whole USA or GB in the Boshin War. I don't know how it would work in the campaign map.
Briefly: No to playable western factions.

At one point I had just British units in a battle. Felt very Western then. Pity about the katanas on them.

No, I think it's fine as it is. We don't need fantasy invasions, the current process where European powers have influence and a hand in things like lending troops is almost perfect.
No, if ANYTHING should be added, it should be the Korean invasion. That is by far the only logical and possible addition, and I doubt it will be made due to the fact I have an inkling feeling they're about ready to drop Shogun II and move on.

No, I don't want to actually play the western powers. But I would be fine with extra off-map Western factions and more Western units as long as they make sense for Japan.

I think they should be done with Shogun, we've had several DLC packs as well as the expansions. Time for new ground.

At first I wasn't a fan of the idea, but fi they did some like alt. History like mogol Invasion that could be interesting. The Western nations attemp to colonize Japan after Japan refuses all offers of trade.
Western nations would have better military forces but suffer from a perminent unhappiness debuff.
But The Russo-Japanese War(8 February 1904 – 5 September 1905) would be something interesting, I maybe wrong but wasn't it the first big war of the 20th century. And it would be another step closer to World War I, which after Playing FOTS I think they will be able to pull off with out to many problems in a year or two.
But seeing as how it deal with the Japanese Empire I don't think Sega would do it since their still pretty touchy about the Japanese Empire.

I reckon spread the campaign futher up north and have the ass end of Russia, you can have Russian's instead of westerner's, all you'd need is to place the timeframe in the Ruso-Sino war

I wouldn't mind being able to play the western nations. Would be fun to be outnumbered but being vastly better quality.

I agree. I would totally download a mod that does that.
But I would prefer CA worked on other things, like patches, and bugfixes, and the next Total War game, etc.
