I've played about 20 campaigns of SS in early campaign, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME, Portugal declares war on the Moors at turn 10-20, they have Lison, but that's it.

They get dominated every time, which makes the Iberian turnout always the same, the Moors win.

If the other Iberain factions attack the Moors they will near always win, half the time though they dick around fighting each other.

They don't win, they get dominated. Five turns after they destroy Portugal, Leon declares war and usually never win, they get absorbed and Aragon is, well... You know.

In my last late campaign ( I was England turtling in Britannia ) Portugal and Aragon formed an alliance and fought against Leon but not Moors...
the pope was pissed and I watched as the three of them got obliterated later by the Moors d'uh.

In all of my hundreds of campaigns I have yet to witness a unified effort by the Leon, Aragon and Portugal to drive the Moors out of Ibera. Maybe a script/mod could help in this ??

I use Gracul and the Moors get crushed by the Iberians fairly often.

It has happened before so it isn't unprecedented. A script? Maybe only against the player, but not the AI.

In my current Fatimid campaign, the Moors are fighting Leon, Portugal, Aragon, and Sicily. They are getting dominated. Maybe your just getting bad luck.

For me Early Era Spain it's all about Chirstian civil wars dooming them. Once the Moors conquer Toledo and Valencia you can kiss both three factions goodbye.

Playing as Late Era, however, is very different. They actually ally and work together. Portugal usually is constantly conquering and losing Silves and Seville, while Leon takes Cordoba and Aragon takes Murcia. Most of my saves playing far from Iberia have the Moorish Caliphate with only Granada.

So I guess is a matter of luck then.

For me, it all depends on the diplomatic situation. If all three catholic factions are allied to together, or at least, not fighting eachother, they usually win the fight for Iberia. But if they fight eachother, the Moors win. Though it seems harder for the Moors to win in most cases, cause Sicily slow there progress right down.

When I was playing as Aragon, I created a triple alliance with Leon and Portugal. We successfully destroyed the Moors. I was surprised to see Portugal and Leon actually helped me destroy them.

Well if I had to take into account when I play as one of the three factions I would talk about the Moors vanquished in 21 turns by Aragon while Portual only conquers Seville and Leon only loses Toledo. And that's with alliances with both of them.

I have only seen the Moors do just that once every other time they stalemate for eons until Sicily does some navel invasions. When i play one of the Iberian factions the moors is one of the first factions to die.

Early game, I use my influence on the pope to make sure all early crusades are in Iberia because I too hate to see spain turn orange. Works every time.

yeah ive seen them attack spain and france and moors. they got owned in a couple of turns
