TIMMOD! and the wars of the diadochi

this is a add on for TE called TIMMOD
(tim is my real name, and the name for the mod is a southpark pun)
instead of replacing only sabaeans, im doing this
its called: Wars of the Diadochi
the faction placement is inculded in this post and is subject to change.
the mod will start in 308 bc, and end at 100bc.
it will use models from attila, and rtr, and if i get permission, a couple of EBs

Black soldiers, though? I can't remember if the south arabians hired african soldiers or not...

a small update, i will post somthing when i get it done
(note: im tring to be historicaly accurate here, but there is not much on the sabaeans, some im going out on a limb somwhat.)
these are the sabatan guards:


ever since the spice trade began in south arabia, the need to ship it great distances as risen as well.
so has piracy, so the need to protect ones bussiness intrest falls to mercinaries hired by the merchants.
armed with their own equiptment, including a stabbing spear of good quality and a shield made from reed with animal hide strecthed over it, these men are more than able to
protect the merchant caravan or ship from puny pirates.
not only do they work for the merchants, but also are sometimes recruited by the sabaeans as auxilla.

Think this is a good idea since Numidia dont stand a chance against Carthage anyway, and there was missing a faction just right there on the penisula. Good initiative.

An Ethiopian Faction, or at least a fairly powerful and extensive North Africa faction would be cool. Would be quite interesting, three way war between Carthage, Egypt, and "Ethiopia"/"North Africa". I fear a Arabian Penninsula faction would get overwhelmed fairly easily by the much more centralized and powerful Egyptians or Seleucids. Afterall, Arabia really only has roads going along the exterior shell, with a huge desert in the middle. As such, it'll be hard for "Arabian" armies to get from one place to another in order to defend themselves, leaving them easy targets.

hmmn what if i converted the britons, or thrace to them?
that would be very interesting....
i plan on joining thrace and dacia to the getai,(plus i got some good models from saniol of ancient wars for the getai) thus freeing up another slot to work with, along with doing away with briton possibly
im thinking yuezhi, hmmn i wonder what other exotic factions i could add?

Whichever it is, there is alot of space in Africa that is rather poor, and almost exclusivly conquered by the A.I. due to long walks required to take the land. Perhaps making a few more cities and provinces down there, and then adding a faction composed entirely of Formidble Light Infantry and Skirmisher/Light Cavalry would add alot to the game.

Ok that happens sometimes, Numidia have to get a good start with many provinces, then they might make it..
See how they will do in my next campaign.
