Default Sengoku Jidai Unit Pack or Blood pack?

So I recently bought Rise of the Samurai bby adding 10 euros to my steam wallet so now if you do the Math, I have 3.01 euros in my.... actually not, I have 3.24 because Ihad 23 centes left from previous buy. So for 34 cents less I can't buy both packs so I 'd like you to help me make my mind.

Sengoku Jidai: Do the new units change the gameplay by offering game variety and how OP are these units in MP?

Blood pack: Does it change the game experience? (I know for sure that I 'd take better screenshots)

Sengoku Jidai unit pack definitely gives you an edge in the beginning of MP when you can use powerful units to smash similarly-leveled players and come out on top

The blood mod just adds a lot of red and body parts. Definitely for the person who enjoys watching the battles of total war.

Daikyu is the best bow inf unit. Heavy gunner is the best matchlock unit. Wako are way cheaper and just as effective as katana samurai.

Blood pack is BS, pay for something that should be for free

Fallowing this logic every DLC should be free.

At the moment the blood pack doesn't seem to be working properly like it was pre-patch. When it was working though, I thought it was pretty cool. If you zoom in it's neat, if you hardly every zoom in on units, not really worth it imo.

The blood pack should be free. That said it does change the feel of battle substantially. It not only adds blood, but decapitations and arms flying too.

    BUT...

CA decided to overdo the blood letting, even though many of us did not ask for silliness, just basic blood. Blood splashes on the screen and men spurt gouts of blood to fill a swimming pool! Some say this is to suit the Samurai movies, but until CA admit this I don`t believe it. I think they did it so they could justify charging for it. It looks very out of place in FOTS, but in the default Shogun 2 game it actually is better, in my humble opinion, with the blood Mod than without.

Before the game was even released they said Shogun 2 was influenced by Samurai movies.
The blood itself was inspired from mods.

Blood Pack currently isn't working as advertised since CA has cursed us with their latest patch. I wouldn't buy it until they've fixed it, if they ever do.
The Jidai pack adds some extra units, sure, but good luck differentiating them on the battlefield - especially since CA have deliberately butchered the graphics for S2, with little to no hope of getting them back. I'd save you steam points to see if the game is fixed, or use them on another steam game.
Gawd, what a hoky video above. Out of shape slouching computer geeks don't make me feel motivated to buy a videogame about noble warriors and valourous combat. It might be a good idea for them to hire a more impressive character as their PR person next time around.

other than the gloss on the official forums different CA people said in the technical issues thread and Craig said it here that they are working on the various graphical issues including the blood pack issue with armor....(to be honest i think a lot of this was caused by the removal of the gloss im sure in there next big patch these issues will be fixed give it a lil time i bet the next patch will be big and there was the debug cam controversy a couple of weeks ago they went through)

I agree with you, I strongly suspect the blood pack issue is related to the removal of gloss. Yes the debug issue was huge. I've no doubt they'll address many of these problems with the next patch, but then again, there's a strong probability they'll create many more.
The issue is, the gloss was a major contributor to the game looking great at release. Putting aside for the moment the divergent views on shiny units and what constitutes realism, the gloss made everything so much more clearer and defined, including the units. I don't think we'll be getting that beautiful rain back either, as that's tied into it as well.

Another question then. Are Bulletproof samurai actually bulletproof? I mean in MP when I play with my shogun army against FotS armies, I will eventually have to charge with my melee units. Until my naginata reach enemy lines, the are already reduced by more than half.

No. Because there`s no such thing as bulletproof armour- and certainly not in those times. Even CA admitted it`s not bullet proof. It`s actually bullet-resistant armour, not bullet proof.

I can only sum them up as yari Samurai with Naginata Armor and better attack power.

At least visually they are different from yari samurai. Bulletproof Samurai models all have masks on them and shin guards....and shoulder armor, I believe.

AND resist 30% (or 70%, memory fails me) "bullet damage".

Bullet Proof Sams have a modifier set specifically to them, so they only receive I believe 50% of bullet damage
