Sir John Konstantinos makes his headquarters in one of the coastal towns, and has ordered the 5000 men of the royal army under his command to garrison the separate settlements along the coast, and many of them have already hunted down some raiders. Any man who is of able body may join, and John anxiously awaits news of the notorious criminal Oegnus mac Airem.

William rode over to the Castle to finish of the business with the bandits.

Asino suddenly popped up behind sir Konstantinos, out of nowhere, and said "Heard you could use some help. Asino di Medico, master assassin at your service. I'll join you if you give me your best, blackest steed."

Bran arrived to find Sir John.

John turns.Assassin eh? Don't trust your type, especially now that new guild is set up. But if you can find lord mac airem, you will have some sort of reward.

Bran saw the assassin appear behind John and rushed forward. Upon seeing them talking, he relaxed...

"John, really, what if he were actually trying to kill you? You must do something about your personal security."

He gave a quick smile to show he was joking.

John laughs
Hehe, perhaps your right. But I need all the men I can get to find this rogue sell sword.

"Well, count me in. We'll find him quick."

"Ah, whatever. You know, i might just be the one who finds this 'Mac Airem'. Count me in."

Word is passed to the raiders that there is much loot to be found on the western shore, this is a lie of course, but a few days later a large ship with black sails is spotted heading towards the shore, flanked by smaller raiding boats. One can only assume its the rogue mercenary commander himself.
I need mac airem alive. Alert the men, we will take these rogues by surprise

"Alive? I'm an assassin for Christ's sakes! Am i allowed to kill anyone at all?"

John laughs
Kill the rest. Just not the leader. He stays alive

Bran grinned. He'd been rather bored since the last battle. He heads to a cliff above the beach to observe the ships, leaving a note for John to follow.

John walked up towards the cliff to speak to Bran
I've had a message from London. It arrived this morning.
The lord Regent is dead or dying. Well finish what we've started, but the question of who my liege will be will arise. I was promised a lordship for Mac Airem and the other ringleaders captured and killed, and I'll see it through.But the future of England is uncertain.

Lothair arrives and speaks with John about the recent moves by Earl Neville.

John grimaces
Now this will be hard. With the regent dead for certain and his heir dissapeared, my barony is in the chamber pot. The 5000 men at my command were loyal to the regent, not Earl William. This will allow me to do something, but which side? No claimants have emerged, William is too grieved, Henry is dead, and Philip is a wandering priest. Richard has gone, who shall take his place? Perhaps it would be best to hold a council of any who would listen. We need earls and lords behind us if we are to oppose William, but perhaps another course of action may be open to us?

Baron Lothair looks at John.

It is a hard decision...if he is crowned King by the Archbishop, then we will have to obey his voice. It all depends on who is willing to stick their heads out to join against William...or more willing to bow to his authority. I do have an army of 7,000 men-at-arms from the Order of the White Cross as I am their Grandmaster. Giving us a formidable force of 12,000 soldiers. Though royal support is needed.

And lord Marsh despises William, so now that William would wield absolute power, he would lend his forces to topple him off the throne. but William would reward those who supported him... I fear that a war has begun. And it will inevitably it will involve us.
