    Yall need to get yalls heads out of yall's asses and realize this. Picture a RTW with no mods and napoleon graphics. This is all you're going to get out of CA. The reason yall praise RTW so much are because of all these mods and such. Also, vanilla tw is no God's gift to CA, so I don't see a reason for putting it over Victorian total war.

    I agree that Rome will certainly not live up to the hype unless it's developed for a very long time almost totally free from Sega input. Rome wont be coming any time soon, because warscape will not do it justice. That said, people clamoring for Rome 2 is only as annoying as everyone telling me the next game will be WW1, or worse, the American Civil War...

    If they continue to follow the current revolution-evolution model, the next TW is likely to be on a new engine (thank God), so that won't be a problem.

    Shogun (revolution) ---> Medieval (evolution)
    Rome (revolution) ---> Medieval 2 (evolution)
    Empire (revolution) ---> Shogun 2 (evolution; no I haven't missed out NTW [that was just an expansion, albeit standalone])

    Next main title (?), following the pattern, one would assume it's on a new engine.
    I'm willing to guess that it will either be Rome 2, or Victoria.

    Where you from?

    Im gonna guess the South!

    But yes, I agree. Rome 2 needs time, whilst a 19th century game could be done relatively easily.

    Well said, Rob. I hope that we won't see a Rome 2 for a long time. Total War should move on to better things and development before they rush out something for nostalgia.

    I thing that they spent too much money for already existing game engine with gunpowder and thats why we don't see Rome 2. Anyway, I hope we don't see this game soon. Why? Cos it's a legend as it was already said. Legend must be masterpiece. I don't know how CA will handle this. And I think You are wrong Robertclive, ofc, Rome has very good modificiation, as well like Medieval 2 which is much better in this case, but we don't love Rome for mods I think, but for epicness of this civilization. See how other civilizations are different from Rome, we have barbarians, Greek, nomads. All this culture had different armies and development. CA going now in very simply way, look at Shogun 2 or Empire, for the case of these ages they make all units completely these same. very large group of players would like to see a bit difference. Thats why we love Rome. I hope Rome 2 will be the best game of CA and they do enormous effort to handle this hype and expectations.

    Fine screw Rome 2 and bring on Medieval 3

    I watched 1066: The Battle for Middle Earth the other day and if they do make a M3TW I hope the expansions are done the same way as S2TW. First expansion could focus around the time period of the Norman conquest of England or even earlier just as long as the Saxons are in it. The second expansion could be the late period maybe the 15th century, both campaigns would be have large maps of Europe though. In a way it would be the early, high, and late campaigns we had in the first Med.
