I'm really enjoying this game, but I have encountered the problem of my line infantry refusing to fire in both multiplayer and singleplayer. The enemy will be within range and my men will have perfect LoS but they still refuse to shoot and just stand there while they get ripped apart. Then, to make it worse, when I attack click they run at the enemy to set up a line closer to them despite being in range and taking fire. This system really makes the game harder for attackers as the defending infantry can get 2 or 3 volleys off before the attacking infantry finally gets into position. In Empire I found it a lot easier as if the enemy was within range, even at max range, the men would shoot. This allowed the attacker to run the men up to max range and let the troops autofire. That way the AI wouldn't reposition the troops to get a better firing angle, ruining your perfectly designed lines.
As a side note, is there a command key which allows the player to command the men to shoot at a particular target, but not move into position/advance if the enemy repositions? (ie if I want to focus fire on a unit, but don't want my lines to go askew from the AI taking over the attack)
