Hey All!
I'm trying to orginize a team to create a mod when the game comes out (Couldn't you guess by the title of the topic?) - I have two current ideas and right now i'm just wondering what you guys think about each one... whichever one people seem to like the most i'll likely end up starting. - The other idea is in the following topic:

Basicly the mod would be set in the stone age.
Unit ideas are as follows:
Clubmen
Bowmen
Raptor riders
T-Rex Units!
Sabertooth riders
Wolly-Mammouth Archers
etc.
Cities would start off very basic. Instead of castles and towns they would be devided into Settlements and Training Grounds.
the concept is still in the very early stages, but I wanted to know what you all thought. Let me know.

Added some more details including some example units and information on the eras.
Dawn of Man encompasses a fictional time-line taking place from the Stone age through the Iron Age. The game ends when either one civilization has conquered their requirements, or at the advent of history (writing).
The game is broken down into 4 “eras” – this number may have to be adjusted due to timing and resource constraints or by coding restraints by the game itself.
As for now the game has the following Eras. By using an event system it shouldn’t (hopefully) be too difficult to do- It’s easily possible to imitate in Rome with the Reforms, and since there are multiple eras in MII it should be doable.
Stone Age-
The game begins in the stone age. More info to come.
Copper Age-
The copper age will be the first one “cut” if 4 ages aren’t able to be done. Basicly the copper age was a transitional period in which man changed from stone tools to metals. More info to come.
Bronze Age – More info to come.
Iron Age –The iron age is closest to what people think of “ancient” times. In the games iron age man has strong weaponry, fortified (walled) towns, armored dinosaurs (think of cataphracts in Rome only with raptors and saber tooth tigers!).
Example units
Raptor Units:
The Raptor (short for Velociraptor [pronunciation: [ve'lɑ.sɪ,ræp.tər]; "swift robber")]) is one of the most familiar and terrifying creatures to mankind. They are naturally carnivorous and extremely intelligent pack animals. Raptors have a large claw on each of their hind feet which they use to kill it’s prey. During the early ages, taming of these beasts could only be done by the most courageous of men as three of every four hunting parties never returned. During the later eras while hunting of the raptors became more common, Raptors became trusted steeds to those who could train them properly.
Wikipedia description (Good information for modelers)
Velociraptor was small for a dromaeosaurid. It had a skull length of 249 mm (9.80 in), a total length of 1.8 m (6 ft), a total height of 0.8 m (2.5 feet), a hip height of 0.5 m (1 ft 8 in) and a weight of 20 kg (45 lb).
Velociraptor had a uniquely up-curved skull, with 26-28 relatively widely-spaced teeth, each more strongly serrated on the back edge than the front. This was possibly an adaptation that improved its ability to catch and hold fast moving prey [1].
It had three large, strongly-curved claws on each forelimb, and like other dromaeosaurs, it had unusually large hands, and arms that were similar in construction and mobility to the wing bones of modern birds [2].
The tail was stiffened, being held rigidly behind the body by a series of ossified (bony) tendons [3].
Unlike most theropod dinosaurs, which had three functional toes on the hindlimb, dromaeosaurs like Velociraptor walked on only their third and fourth digits. The first digit, as in other theropods, was a small dewclaw. The second digit was highly modified and held retracted off of the ground. It bore a relatively large, sickle-shaped claw, typical of dromaeosaurid and troodontid dinosaurs.
Raptor Trainers
Raptor trainers are similar to the “War-Dog” unit in Rome Total War, in that they are a combination of human and animal units. The trainers are armed with blunt weapons such as clubs, while their “pets” are armed simply with their teeth and claws. Raptor trainers are useful in all the ages, but are one of the more powerful infantry units in the early ages.
Raptor Riders
Raptor riders are an advanced form of cavalry unit. Armed with spears, both the rider and the mount are deadly adversaries. Raptor riders become available in the Copper Age.
Armored Raptor riders
Available only in the Iron Age, Armored raptors are covered in light armor to protect against enemy weaponry.
