Sitting in his ready room, Captain Mountbatten was looking through the map of the Gamma Quadrant on his Data pad. This was a truly vast system, and a vast task did stand against them. Resolving what to do he stood up and entered the bridge, taking his seat in the Command chair, they would soon be approaching the Wormhole. He awaited Ensign Murphey's report. Edward looked over to his Executive Officer who seemed to be lost in world of his own

Grissom escapes his thoughts on the workings of the galaxy and turns to his new captain. "Captain, the Indefatigable is ship-shape in Bristol fashion. We are ready for your orders."

"Very good Commander, I can tell we are going to work well together.."

Edward raised his seat's console,

"What do you think of the crew?"

"From what I've seen so far, they're all expertly trained and suited for their task, though in some cases I'm not quite sure what that task is..."
He shifts uncomfortably as he recalls the internal affairs officer he spotted on the way up.
"Still, this is an important mission, and I'm very confident in the assignments Starfleet has made. I expect we'll be seeing nothing but the best from every member of the crew."

Edward chuckled as he still scrolled through the roster,

"A Klingon communications officer.. Interesting. I would suggest Number One, that you engage a tour of the ship, getting to know these officers. Some seem on edge."

"All readings are normal captain, nothing out of the usual"

"Very good, ensign. Proceed into the wormhole, reduce speed and fly with caution. There are reports of problems with readouts and instruments within it."

Grissom nods in agreement. He stands.
"I was thinking the same thing. With your leave."
He steps away from the command area and out to the turbolift.

[Ferdiad]

Thomas was nervous about the thought of flying without his instruments, they were very helpful to new Pilots straight out of the Academy. He wouldn't want to end his first mission prematurely, still he kept these doubts to himself, he couldn't fail the captain now!

"Aye Aye Captain, entry into the wormhole shall happen shortly"

Thomas was getting the hang of the controls for the ship, they looked quite intimidating but they followed a logical understandable pattern.

A call is heard on the inter-ship communicator.

Zis is Lieutenant Blanc for Captain Mountbatten. Captain Kampf 'as been accommodated on deck three. We will continue to monitor his situation and report and fishy behavior.

"Captain, engineer Zeta reporting in. Every instrument seems to be working correctly, but i don't know what will happen inside a wormhole."

"Thank you very much department heads. I will like your presence for dinner in my cabin this evening."

The Captain then spoke to the helm as they entered the wormhole, a vast array of colour visible on the outside.

"Just keep us steady, Ensign."

[Tazgrent]

The turbolift door opens and Grissom steps back onto the bridge. He makes his way to his seat.

"Captain, I've spoken to all the department heads. I'm very confident in our ship's staff. How's the ship handling?"

"Captain, i am not a department head. Should i come?"

OOC Update: We are now in the middle of a main mission. Post anything regarding the following scenario here in this thread.

During the dinner with the Captain, the senior officers began experiencing lightheadedness. Their symptoms are only getting worse by the minute, as they are even experiencing visions from their past (note: you can use this chance to flesh out your character's background story by giving us flashbacks to his past). There are reports coming in from all over the ship (sickbay: this is your chance to be creative).

Be sure to state your location whenever you post, since the various departments will have to cooperate with each other to solve this problem (by using your comm badges).

Location: Science Lab

Sophia hurried back to the science lab. She had a clear suspicion of what was happening to the crew. The tricorder readings she took of the dinner guests only confirmed those suspicions. She quickly sat down at her station and stared at the monitor with wide eyes, gasping for air while in deep thought.

Talking to herself out-loud:

"Damn it! I knew it. Why didn't I say something earlier?"

One of the officers who was running the night shift heard the news through his communicator, he then tapped it,

"Ensign Johnson to Commander Stock, who is charge, you or Captain Kampf?"

[Diamat]

At this point, Sophia had completely forgotten about the chain of command. She responded with a concerned voice:

"Ensign, have you contacted Commander Grissom? I just saw him at the Captain's dinner."

The Ensign tapped it again,

"My knowledge is that both the Captain and Commander Grissom have collapsed. I need orders."

[Diamat]

Sophia knew she had to take action. She did not want to see another unnecessary loss of lives as she had experienced during her service on the Columbus. But she was extremely agitated. She was about to respond, when suddenly the console near her station exploded. She was fine, but the other consoles were also malfunctioning.

She asked the computer:

"Computer, what is the status of Engineering?"

Computer: "All systems are within normal perimeters."

Sophia: "What about the warp engines?"

Computer: "All systems are within normal perimeters."

She tapped her comm badge:

"Ensign, it seems that systems shipwide are beginning to malfunction. Engineering seems to be fine, however. Meet me there. We will set up a temporary command station there. Let all other personnel know as well."

"I cannot leave my station, Commander. I would suggest you summon security and the science and medical departments."
