Biography:

Born during the 2350's; Markus was the son of a renowned Federation Diplomat who had served as one of the many Ambassadors charged with dealing with the Dominion, seeing many horrors of the Federation-Dominion war. Markus had been told stories of his fathers travels and of the many species he encountered, of all the races, Markus was most interested in the ones known as the 'Prophets'; a race who were able to hold off the might of the Dominion by themselves. Whilst during his early childhood he had little appreciation for his fathers position, Markus trained and toiled day after day to enter the Starfleet command academy, inspired to become a great officer like the many in the Grand annals of Federation history. He was not very adept with a phaser and during combat classes he was almost always beaten, yet when it came to Federation code and law he was top of his class, remembering huge chunk of protocol from the back of his memory. After a few brutal years of training, Markus was set to attempt the final exams; yet it was not to be his fortune as he failed by a whisker due to his inability for command, the only thing keeping him up was his way with words and the law.

Yet this was not to be the end for young Markus as he was luckily spotted and was taken an interest in by one Ambassador K'yoli who had returned from his active duties in the Alpha Quadrant; a man who had been a great friend of his fathers back when he was in active duty for the Federation. Realizing that Markus had the potential to follow in his fathers footsteps, he recommended him to the Diplomatic corps where he began another five years of training; picking up an enthusiasm for diplomacy and resolving problems with wit and skill with wordplay. This time when it came to the final exams he passed with flying colours; almost grading a remarkable 100% success percentile, where his Father was on hand to congratulate him and remind him of how proud he was of his son. On graduating; Markus was assigned as an Advisor to the Ambassador to Axanar, helping him resolve the unsettling conflicts between the inhabitants and Starfleet. He spent five years in the Ambassadors company, receiving a rather career-boosting commendation and recommendation from the Ambassador after finishing his duties on Axanar. After which, he was brought back to the Federation Diplomatic Head-Quarters as part of a group of talented young Diplomats tasked with a special mission. He was briefed on his mission to help Starfleet explore the Gamma Quadrant and build relations with any species they many encounter; being assigned as an Charge d'Affaires for the mission. Yet Markus still had to be assigned upon a starship to complete his three years of Diplomatic services upon a starship; and was hence assigned to the USS Indefatigable due to it's posting in the Gamma Quadrant.
