    Here is where all major game announcements and notices will be placed by mods. First one is below

    Pre-RP, the Launch

    While me and the others set up the game today, there will be a pre-start rp called the Launch, the thread of which I shall post soon. In this you can RP arriving at the ship and settling in, and meeting the other characters. Once everything is ready, we will start the RP proper.

    For all those who are just joining in:

    We are in the middle of a main mission.
    Please post anything directly pertaining to the current situation in the main mission thread.

    Current main plot-lines:
    -much of the ship's personnel (but not all) are in biotemporal flux, which means that they are feeling lightheaded while also experiencing shifts to their past. Apparently it has something to do with the wormhole travel. The situation could become life threatening if not resolved soon, since crewmembers would eventually experience complete temporal reversion.
    -the chronitons seem to be mainly affecting organic matter. As a result, much of the ship's systems are also affected, since our ship uses bio-neural circuitry.
    -Engineering, the Warp Core, and the Warp engines seem unaffected.
    -the Captain and XO are unable to lead at the moment due to the effects of the biotemporal flux.
    -Lt. Cmdr. von Stock, the next highest ranking officer, has taken charge, but is conflicting with the authority of Kampf, a captain.
    -Kampf has also been severely affected by biotemporal flux
    -von Stock has asked all Engineering and Science personnel to engineering. They are working on a solution to the problem from there, since the systems there are not affected.
    -the exact causes of the biotemporal flux were explained by von Stock here.
    -We will exit the wormhole in ca. one hour (RPG time, not real time). This will be a crucial time. While we are currently at impulse speed, von Stock is planning to engage the warp drive (with a modified warp field) at a calculated time right before exiting the wormhole. This is incredibly dangerous and needs to be perfectly calculated, since you are not supposed to be at warp while going through a wormhole. She is essentially trying to create an antichroniton wave, thus purging the condition which is affecting the crew and systems.

    4/28 Reforms

    Below you will find several reforms to improve this RPG. These shall be implemented as of now. The next mission shall commence shortly. I hope you will all still be joining in, for I have a few surprises in store for ya'll, which I hope will keep you interested in this RPG.

    -I will only mildly roleplay in my role as 2nd Officer, letting other players get a feel for the game
    -Mods will henceforth designate missions in a loose manner, creating broad goals to be achieved. However, as the mission goes on, mods will add enemies and plot twists, but without letting the lay players know about this beforehand. Players may propose certain wishes for the mission, but for now, it will ultimately be the mods who decide the plot turns. The better you RP, the better the plot. In fact, mods might want to improvise their plans for the current mission if they see certain interesting happenings occurring in the RPing between characters, and may base these plot twists on the current context. This should add even more substance to the RPG, very reminiscent of Star Trek episodes.
    -Players can die. While this should be rare, it is possible. A character can die for making bad decisions. For instance, if a player decides to hold off enemies for his friends to get to safety, he might (or might not) die a heroic death. Ultimately, it will be up to the mods to decide the death of a character, based on a fair assessment of the situation the character is in. There shall be no "oh there was a sudden explosion and he died" kind of thing. Nevertheless, players will have to RP intelligently. If you are making stupid mistakes, or some other players leave you out to die (or whatever), mods may make the decision to kill you. This decision must be unanimous. Such a decision is automatically considered unanimous once two or more mods agree, without any dissenting voice. Once any other mod voices disagreement, the character shall not be killed.
    -For your service, you will receive awards as listed here. These awards shall function on an accumulative basis, meaning that you will first receive a bronze medal, which will then turn into a silver, and finally into a gold. Once you have a gold, you will keep the gold and restart with bronze, then silver, then your second gold medal (this is just like the TWC rep system, i.e., golden ring, golden fleur, red fleur). The more of these you have, the better your chances of receiving promotions, special assignments, or alien characters. As other high ranking players become inactive (e.g., the captain) or die, you may actually qualify for the position if you have the proper rank and awards. Thus, there is potential for you to become captain one day. In fact, if this RPG keeps growing, we might eventually add a second ship to the fleet, upon which you may become captain, XO, or whatever of that ship. However, earning these medals won't be easy. Oftentimes you will have to risk your life to earn them, meaning that you could potentially lose your character in the process. This should keep the game exciting for you.

    I hope the above-listed changes will create substantial unpredictability for players, as they will no longer be aware of what might happen. As stated, enemies will be created by the mods as they see fit. Nevertheless, you are welcome to make proposals. For now, mods will RP as enemies. As this RPG gets back on its feet, we will allow other players to take some of these roles. For now, however, my main concern is keeping this RPG alive.

    I will soon do some major cleaning up of this RPG. Please make a short post in the thread linked below, affirming your continued participation in this RPG. In two weeks, on Saturday, June 2, 2012, all players who have not posted here will be considered "lost in action," and their service records will be stored in the vault.
