Did they weaken the Legions in the patches?

Before I had downloaded the 1.3 and 1.5 patches my Legionnaires could slaughter any barbarian infantry unit.

But now when I test each units strength in custom battle, the Germanic Chosen Axemen can kill my Urban Cohorts everytime.

Did they weaken the Cohorts or did they just made the barbarian infantry stronger?

They must have, not sure really because I play the mods. It was rather annoying when your legions could win any 1 v 1 fight easily, in 1.0 they never ever lost a fight.

Yea, they were too strong and cheap, unlike barbarians, its a fix now.

thoug legions are still my favs in everyway, in groups they are unbeatable, of corse with auxilia and cav auxilia at their flanks.

they have been the most powerfull and efective army in the history of the world, and this is reflected on the game.

Actually yes, they did tweak the value a bit. It really annoys me that the Roman infantry are relatively weaker now. I always keep a 1.0 version on the computer seperate from my 1.3 or whatever because of this. They also tweaked the temple values from the normal to the BI original game version so that Jupiter worship is more powerful. In the original worship of Saturn provides the highest public order bonus and the reason Jupiter is better is only because of the way it affects your family members.

Yup, I was surprised when Chosen Swordsmen from Britannia slaughtered rather big armies of mine, with normal Legionnary Cohort and stuff. They caught me by surprise and took some cities in Gaullish Territory. Of course Ive already started a Punishment Expedition

It just doesn't settle with me that Urban Cohorts who used to be one of the most badass units gets slaughtered by german chosen axemen.

They weakened them to help balance out the game, i hated how in 1.0 that legionaires owned everything, it made it very annoying fighting them, or as them because you knew you were always going to win. After patch 1.3, with the weakened legionaires stats its much more balanced and other factions have a much better chance against the romans.

but then u to think germania wasn't completely conquered by the romans despite the attempt by augustus legions at the end of the day wasn't it them who sacked the romans some hundreds of years later? the german barbarians were mad hard to defeat that is why ever since what happened to varus in 9AD they didn't attempt to fortifiy germania prehaps the only general who could of done it would of been julius caesar i guess. anyway it makes sense those barbarians were prehaps the strongest enemies the romans ever encountered well the ones in germania so it makes sense they're stronger.
