Hello there fellows
I have downloaded all of the parts I need to install this mod, I played this a few years ago and remember it fondly.
My problem is, my new Total Wars are on steam and when I try to run the first main mod install it tells me it cant find Total War Kingdoms.
I assume this is a issue with Steam most likely, but I cant find any info here on the forums.
Any assistance would be amazing, as i Long to recapture the glory of the bYzantium empire one last time
DD
No one at all uses steam or has an idea on how to get around this strange problem?
Ive been reading the steam guides, and still no sucess, im not an amature mod user, Ive got it working befor along with many other mods for other games.
Ive tried moving the exe into the steam apps, medieval folders etc, yet it still wont launch.
Annoyingly it wont let me tell it where to install, the 3.0 mod exe just seems to auto attempt to install to what i assume was the pre steam Sega file directory.
well ill give up for today, se if anyone amazing can help.
I just cant get 3.0 to even begin to install, ironicly, the patches after will happily install where i need them to go, its tragic the same delivery method was not used for the 3.0 installer
So to summerise, I have a steam version of Total War Kingdoms installed in its default location within steamapps.
When I click to Run 3.0 installer, it instantly says, it can find no valid TW kingdoms install on my system.
Nothing I have read here provides an answer, all install guides state this install is supposed to be the easy bit, and it should happily install itself. This is not the case for me.
Im using windows 7 64bit if that makes any difference.
Regards and ill check in tomorow.

@Encarmine
What is the path to the Kingdoms.exe file?
If it is on a drive other than C: than that can cause problems. Also check your registry and see if the location of Kingdoms.exe matches the physical location of the file. If you have installed M2TW and Kingdoms in more than one location than that can cause problems also.

Re: Need Help Please
hi thanks for the reply, i check and no, i have not double installed Kingdoms or Medieval, both are located within Steam Apps, their default location when I downloaded them from steam.
Ive got Third Age Total War and also Call of Warhammer working fine.
But neither of those mods are Kingdoms Grand Campaign
( Im a history fanboy not fantasy

Have you read this post and especially the spoiler regarding the installation of KGCM with Steam? There is also another link at the bottom of the spoiler with further suggestions.

Re: Need Help Please
Hi thanks again,
I did have a solid read, and got myself that new launcher mod, very nice.
But my problem, was not covered, the actual 3.0 install wizard, wont even launch, to let me tell it where to instal, it just tells me it doesnt detect a valid medieval total war and then closes.
But I do have it, Stainless Steel is workin and Third Age and also Warhammer, but its a shame not this cool mod.

@Encarmine
I suggest that you try running CCleaner or some other registry repairing application. The install for v3.0 cannot find a valid reference to the location of Kingdoms.exe on your system.

Re: Need Help Please
Hey man thank for the advice,
I dont currently have cc cleaner installed on this.
Its definatly worth a go, I hope that fixes my problem
Stainless Steel, although similer, has shocking FPS issues. I remember this Grand Campaign Mod being so much smoother.

Re: Need Help Please
tried it, great advice and thanks, as its cleanred the ol PC up a treat.
alas, when i clicked on the 3.0 installer, it had a good 'look' for the medieval file, i assume, as it 'loaded' once i clicked on it, then it came to the 'do you want to run this program' window, clicked Run and again it says no valid install.
I was confidant that timee as well
(
Last night i also uninstalled and reinstalled total war kingdoms, and have left Medieval 2 uninstalled.
