A School Project...
I'm rather new to the forums, but I thought this would be the place to get the help we need, so here goes:
I'm going to be in an independent studies class. For such, a group of my friends and I have convinced our longsuffering teacher to let us attempt an overhaul mod. Now, keep in mind this would not be due until second semester of next school year.
My friends and I have limited experience with some of the aspects of modding. Basically, before we commit to such a large undertaking, I wanted to test the waters and see if the modding community here on TWC would be willing to provide support if we did in fact go ahead with the project.
Feedback is appreciated!

Well, in theory, it would be an overhaul mod of Kingdoms set in an alternate universe with different factions and units etc.
The important thing right now is to see if we get in a bind, if the community would be willing to help us out.

Well, here is a link to a plethora of modding tutorials that will be essential in your quest: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92488
Also, be sure you know the hard-coded limits* and what you can and cannot do: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=28608
Also, there are many modders, including myself, that will be willing to help you on your way
*hard-coded limits are limits that cannot be surpassed with modding WITHOUT modding the game's .exe file, which we all know is illegal.

From my own personal experience the twcenter community is great at offering support however we won't do it for you(don't want to sound too harsh). Also as the holy pilgrim said know the hardcore limits and don't dive straight in. Get a plan of what your mod is going to be, make sure it's unique and what tools you will need. How will you collaborate and most importantly make sure that you can stick with it thick and thin. If it doesnn't work don't give up and that's what the community is here for. To have another set of eyes look at where it might be wrong.
And Good Luck!

My suggestion is to plan ahead, even if you don't quite manage to accomplish it all people will still have a general understanding of your vision.
