    Default Battle of Aizu-Help Needed

If somebody does not instruct me on how to win this historical battle I will, in a crime of passion, hurt a small animal. Is that really something you want on your conscience?

I would have to say a fly. His avatar is clearly Mr. Miyagi & have you seen what Mr. Miyagi can do to flies in the Karate Kid?!
Oh wait... flies are insects... um...

Split all your infantry into two groups - ones that can kneel fire into one and ones that can't into the other. Advance through forest wherever you can, and use your gun to take out the first and maybe the second enemy gun positions. The first group of enemies nearest to you should be fairly easy to take out - put the entire group on kneel fire and have one unit put on suppression fire.

When you get the "you are being attacked by the White Tiger/etc forces pull back until you are at a point where your own troops are inside a forest and your enemies are not. This helps minimise your casualties and preserve men. Use your cavalry and the second group to come round the side and flank your enemy.

It takes a long time to go through the whole process, but do it slowly and you will get there. I finished VH with about 500 men left. Good luck!

If no good luck happens, you could also split the small animal into two parts... cute parts to be sure.

The most infuriating part of this battle is neutralizing the enemies parrot guns. How did you go about doing this? I have tried shelling them with the armstrong guns but by the time I am able to destroy them they have already killed many of my infantry. I tried attacking them with cavalry but they get shot to bits.

Walk through the forest whenever you can - which should be almost the whole way if you deal with the ambushes correctly. Go into first person mode and you can exceed the range of the gun by shooting into the air. I took out the first two cannons this way I think.

I already tried twice the Aizu battle szenario, but everytime I was running out of ammo at 80% of the process due to 5 different battles before and no any station to recharge the ammo...

And with no ammo I have no any chance of getting Aizu castle.

I DID IT! The trick is to use first person view to destroy their canons with your armstrong guns. After that just use the kneel fire ability to rip them to shreds and send your cavalry to scout for the hidden units.

Turn off fire at will after the AI troops become "shattered". Don't let your men waste bullets mowing down escaping men. Three units out of my main group ran out of ammo when I finished but the rest were enough to take the castle.

I did it after one fail yesterday, you need to use your cannon (first person) to shoot other canons. Use also cavalry to pull hidden units off the woods and don't fire on rout unit, keep your ammo !

I was actually doing fairly well in that battle until it came to actually taking the fort. Wall climbing is still bugged...

As far as I know you must occupy the castle to finish the Aizu scenario.

Yes. I destroyed all four groups separately and didn't get the achievement. Not sure how to go about doing that though since they spawn at completely different places.

i got the achievement playing this battle on legendary. It wasn't that hard really; all u have to do is to sacrifice your cav and run with them trough the valley and provoke all hidden forces (in this process u will probably lose all cav.), once u do that u can easily destroy them one by one and in the end then u get that achievement. I also used my cav for destroying parrot guns so that i could go through without too much trouble.

So for the achievement I run with my cavalry around and they don't have to be provoked in the second but in a short period of time?
