Formation Distances

Hello, I've been searching around to no avail for an answer to my question (probably due to how I worded it) and decided to ask it here.

I've been trying to figure out how to change the distances between units, so that phalanx capable units have no space between them. I'm not talking about the soldiers, but the actual units. So that one unit of Phalanx Pikemen stand shoulder to shoulder with another unit of Phalanx Pikemen.

You need to change descr_formations_ai.txt. Formations are made up of unit blocks and each block has its own "inter_unit_spacing" value. Just make that very low for the blocks that have "unit_type phalanx".
