Default How to use 1 of 2 monitors?

I have two monitors, when I play the game it goes on one of them, this is what i want...but if my mouse gets close to the edge of the screen it jumps to the other monitor and click i do when this happens minimizes the game, it makes it impossible to click and of the buttons on the lower right of the screen.

Is there any way to fix this other than turning off dual monitor mode? No other game I have does this, even really old ones like Fallout 1 or Pharaoh work fine.

This is a difficult question to answer because there are two different things happening at the same time. I'll try to elaborate:

I do not own R:TW but I would bet it has a function that allows the user to scroll the Campaign map by moving the cursor beyond the side of the screen - that is and was a popular option when this game was made. The problem with trying this on two monitors with more modern OS's is that moving the cursor from one screen to another essentially tricks the OS into believing that you're intending to move to another program and interrupts the game. This is because the OS has default functionality over slaved programs. It behaves as if you used the Windows key to kick-out to the desktop. This game was not written to override that basic function.

I've tried to explain the reason why it happens. Now you need to figure out if you can keep the game on one monitor and teach the OS not to interfere when R:TW is working. I will bet good money that there is nothing you can do in the game files. But maybe there's a way to tell the OS (probably Win7 or Vista) to use only one monitor for this program? It's not my area of expertize but I would bet there's a way to make it work. Good luck!

    Thank you for the response.

    I've found this: http://www.actualtools.com/multiplemonitors/?aff=6162

Which seems like it will allow me to do what I want, it has a hotkey called :Lock Mouse" (alt+p) which locks the mouse to the current monitor.

However that is a trial and the locking feature doesn't work in the free version of the program so i do not intend to use that.

I'd like to use windowed mode if possible but now i have another issue with my Rome TW in that it says "can not find steam" yet i'm launching it from steam.....

Your response gave me an idea on how to search for a program to help. I found this program which looks promising and it's free - MultiMonitor Cursor Lock. I've never used it so I can't attest to its reliability but it does look exactly like what you need. If you try it out please let us know if it works and how good it is.

As for your Steam issue - sorry but I can't help there as I'm not a Steam user. I've heard in the past though that clearing the Steam cache and verifying the integrity of the game files helps solve some minor issues. Good luck!
