Laptop continuously freezes and has to perforum Startup Repairs over and over again..

This is the only computer I have untill I get my new gaming PC in a month and since I woke up this afternoon it has been crashing nonstop and having to perform Startup Repairs over and over again. I have no idea what to do about it since I would really like to be able to use the computer and if this one is broken I will be without anything for a month.

is the crashing when you are gaming or just random...?

a start up reboot loop could be a short somewhere. otherwise it could be overheating cpu/gpu or something else that is failing. check temps with coretemp/realtemp and msi afterburner.

post a dxdiag please. more specific crash info is needed.

The freezing is random. There is no way it could be overheating as it happens so soon and I haven't played a single game all day!. Sometimes it will be like two minutes the computer is on and it freezes or other times it will be like computer has been on for 30 minutes and it freezes.

Well the fact that it's laptop makes things a bit tricky.

If you havent installed any temp monitoring software do so.

Not sure what else to suggest really for latpto...my first thought would be check/replace battery or check temps.

Saving that without being able to take out parts n replace not sure what else to suggest. Maybe someone with more laptop knowledge can help.

It is pretty odd. For some reason I can actually play Stainless Steel for hours on end and it won't crash, but god help me if I check the internet it freezes. Sometimes I won't even have played a game, just turn on the Laptop, and decide to check the internet and it freezes after two minutes.

Do you have an "Always On" connection to the internet? What anti-virus software do you use?

I use Wifi. I don't use any anti-virus software. Windows Firewall is really all that runs on this computer I am pretty sure.

It just did a disk check saying "Deleting Corrupt Attribute Record" and other kinds of repairing and what not.

It's a hard drive issue?

I already new this computer wasn't going to last. Months ago I posted about another issue with it. I am just hoping I can find a cheap solution so I can actually have a computer to use for now.

Not that I know of. I had the computer shut off before any of this trouble started. I am pretty sure they are not up to date btw.

After a full format and reinstall of the OS please take some time to look into anti-virus software. My bet is that you have something on your system that has caused all of your troubles. A firewall alone is not enough. Good luck!

I know for a fact there are several virus's on this computer. It was loaned out to family and they installed countless numbers of

! I am not even gonna bother with a reformat.

It is not a good computer to begin with just something to use.
