    Default Im slightly worried :/

I started a campaign as Ostland (my first time playing version 1.5), im 13 turns in. Whats concerning me is that i havent had a single scripted event or battle so far. I would have thought i'd have come across at least one by now! Im just worried that scripted events might be turned off or something :0

Also practically every second turn i get a message saying that some count has hired one of the mercenary captains and that his troops are available for ME to recruit. Is this a new feature of 1.5??

There are less scripted battles in 1.5 I think though I'm not sure when the first one for Ostland should occur.

Mercenary captain notice was in 1.4 as well. They do seem to get recruited faster in 1.5- I guess the odds have been re-worked as there are so many mercenary captains in 1.4 the slow appearance would mean rarely in one campaign would more than 1/5 of them ever appear.

Ah i see, well that makes sense I guess. Im on turn 21 now and I got my first scripted battle, well not really a battle. I got a warning that Nornden was about to be attacked so i better come to their aid or else

The only scripted battles I had were the ones where the theogonist sent me against towns full of minotaurs and beastmen, and that I should probably go help an ally since a few armies appeared in their lands.

It has been a while since I played as Ostland, but I believe you get a warning of an impending Dark Elf raid on your coastal towns around turn 15, then the next is the approach of a couple of Tzeentch Chaos stacks (giving you a free stack to fight them in unfavourable circumstances, but hey a cannon!) at the nearest Kislev province shortly afterwards.

The worst is the 4 or 5 full Nurgle stacks that stomp through Central Kislev to put you on your last legs - you kind of need to get lucky with assistance from Hochland and Talabecland to hold it off without losing several production centres! But it is good fun.

After that it is "just" Storm of Chaos you have to worry about, unless you feel like helping against Vampire Counts or the Orc Waaagh!

Bare in mind this is all from a 1.44 campaign, I haven't got much further than custom battles in 1.5

In my ostland campaign, all orc waaagh, vampire attack and druchii invasion are all success. Kislev and nordland are heavily owned by druchii and dwarfs have fallen to orc. Which lead to ostermark being beaten really hard by the vampire, while I must defend my own settlement against beastmen attack script, which spawn 2 script armies against my town.

I thought 1.5 changed the way scripted battles are handled. Have you seen red circles around enemy stacks recently?
Those are scripted armies, which you may or may not attack at your convenience or necessity depending on their objective. Sadly, once you are past the turn that notifies you of the event, you'll have to figure out for yourself which marked army (surrounded by red circle) belongs to which event. I myself try to be on the safe side and attack any marked armies if I'm able... which often I'm not

    Yes they did!
They made them happen at the players turn beginning => if you save in that turn the savegame is corrupt and you have to start from the beginning...

No saves during Storm of Chaos/Orc invasion etc...

It seems they tested it for 140%!
