    Default minutes of battle

Hi! Can you help me? How can i change the total minutes for each battle or play the battle in campaign mode without time? Thank you

In a custom battle you can select the time period you want under 'advanced settings'.

To play battles without a time limit in campaign you must set this before you start the game. On the campaign setup screen (where you choose your faction) there is a box regarding having a time period or not. Tick this or untick it for what you would like (sorry i can't remember whether you tick or untick for no time).

You tick it for no time, I believe. And you can always tweak this in-game with the campaign Options menu. So you don't need to restart a campaign.

Yeah you have to untick it on the campaign starter screen. But i think its better to have a time limit, bit more of a challenge and if your defending against massive enemy forces you can still win if the time runs out.

I have always had the time limit on since a battle that scarred me for life lol.

I was defending a city with the smallest stone walls and i was so outnumbered it was stupid.

I started by setting their only ram on fire which left them with 2 ladders and one siege tower. I had a mix of decent troops down to peasents on the walls. Fortunatley i had some javlines so they took out a few. My archers and machine gun towers did damage too. The battle went on for ages and ages and it could have gone either way. My good troops all died leaving the city in the hands of peltasts. Everyone was exhausted. I sent out my only cav unit (general) to finish those who were picked off by arrows. SUCCESS they finally routed, i had won. I clicked continue battle so i could make my greatest ever victory even greater but when thye had all left the battle or been killed it did end! I spent ages trying to find where there enemy was and it emerged there was a horrible bug in which there were supposedly enemy units where there were none.

I may never get over that.

Oh when i exited i got a close defeat and lost the city!!!!!

Ouch Hannibal, that sounds nasty, unlucky mate. A very good defence of your city though. Well DOne

I do remember such an event happening to me, only with a much better result. I was playing the Allemani and the Vandal horde arrived, attacking my main city as they came. Now luckily i had stone walls in this city. I also had barely any garrison, something like 4 cavalry units, 3 spearmen units and 4 archers, plus my general. The battle began well, with my archers firing up both their rams. Unfortunately, you can never set ladders on fire, atleast i haven't. And they got 3 ladders on my walls. OF cours, being a horde they had 11 infantry untis to use against me. I managed to hold them off for about 20 minutes. After that my infantry broke. Only one unit of spearmen remained alive. And they were down to 70 or so men. For the next 25 minutes those 70 or so men held off 9 units if Vandal horde infantry. Eventually they got down to 20 and a glitch occured that made them fight to the death and kept them alive until only 9 minutes remained in the battle. Then the last man died and my cavalry held off the rest of the horde by using on of the many hills found in barbarian towns. got a heroic victory and it was all thanks to having a timelimit.
