I have seen artillery captured when i do auto resolve, but when i fight the battles on the map, how do i capture them?
I have seen artillery captured when i do auto resolve, but when i fight the battles on the map, how do i capture them?
sooo anybody have a conclusive answer to this? Doing a legendary tosa campaign and facing lots of them damn parrot guns that I'd like to chuck back at em![]()
Nice to know they finally put capturing artillery in, it makes you want to be more careful how you transport it, just letting it walk some where may lead to it being captured.
My mods
-Mod Leader for the Wheel Of Time This is not the beginning, but it is a beginning
-Mod Leader for Shogun 2: Foreign Invasion if you want a mod with alot of units this is for you, not only is there the 40 units CA made theres planned to be atleast 177 NEW units when its done.
-Modder in the World War I and Shogun II project. The only full scale mod for FOTS and it plays nothing like FOTS. FOTS may have Gatling guns, WW1&S2 has tekidanto samurai, SNLF, MGs, kisho snipers, assault infantry(shotguns) just to name a few.
I just attacked a castle with a bunch of parrot guns. They had 1 parrot gun which I destroyed with mine. After the battle it was captured.
So all you need is a little glue, tape and bailing wire to capture artillery![]()

The only guns I capture almost 100% are Wooden Cannons...
Seriously Asia, Wooden Cannons?
They didn't have the capacity to produce bronze, iron, copper, or any other damn metal cannon.
So they went with what they had, which was wood.
Hilariously enough America has produced wooden cannons too, although those were created just to screw with the enemy's head.
America has a grand old tradition of doing that actually, having deployed wooden cannons in the civil war and balloon tanks in WW2.![]()
I've caught some Parrot guns once.

Once I caught a set of Gatling guns on hard in1877. I had finished an elite army to counter an ai super army of 3 stacks. I fought them on the battle field. There army was full of levy so eventually I took them down with several bombardments and cannons. I had destroyed the Gatling guns but apparently I was able to use them in my own army. It was pretty awesome.![]()
I love capturing canons, a nice little feature![]()
Yes would be awesomeNow they just need to figure out how to code letting you capture and use the enemy guns within a battle, and the artillery aspect of the franchise will be damn good.![]()
Capturing artillery was possibility in ETW, like said, thought it wasn't implemented in main version but various mods will do that.
In FotS I find it to be very random to capture some. If enemy has one you may or may not get it if you win.
But word of advice: don't use artillery when you are using guerilla tactics. I lost all my three precious "armstrongs" when I withdrew from battlefield![]()
It shouldn't be TOO hard. I mean, just allows artillery crews to grab other artillery crews' guns.
Including the enemy's.

We've been able to do that since, like, Rome.
I would think if it were moddable, it would be done by now.![]()
