Mailed Knights forever?
So, looking around in the stables line of european factions I've played, I've noticed that Mailed Knights, from their first appearance in Knight's Stables, remain for the rest of the game.
Feudal Knights dissapear after one stable upgrade.
I have not yet looked at variations of Mailed Knights and their permanence (or lack thereof).
My question, though, is: Why do Mailed Knights last for all the game, while Feudal Knights (and probably other similar units) dissapear from the training pool after being present for only one tier?
Also, I couldn't help but notice that some units have dissapeared from the campaign (Imperial Knights
, though I've seen a couple rebel ones).

Re: Mailed Knights forever?
Mailed Knights late in the game are intended to be a "light" cavalry.
Feudal Knights disappear because, let's say, English Knights are far superior to them.
You can switch Feudal Knights to Imperial Knight for HRE. It takes a bit of file editing. Look up in the Workshop.

Yep, I downloaded this mod called 'Revival', I think. Adds most missing units to the game. I'm seriously considering editing the mailed knights out. Wouldn't be the first time I tweak stuff.

Good luck with that. Keep in mind though, one of the most annoying things is the enemy general escaping after being surrounded by your troops. Mailed Knights make sure you have a chance of catching him...
