The Dueling Club

With the staff supporting the creation of a dueling club, it was only a matter of time before word spread all over the school. Meetings would be held every Monday. Profess Maldow, the staff sponsor, has agreed to oversee the proceedings of the club, as well as demonstrate new techniques

Atticus made his way into the Great Hall, which had been transformed for the occasion. Tables had been pushed together creating a raised platform. Atticus, of course, was the first to arrive. Perhaps a bit overzealous...

ooc: This will start when the sponsoring professor comes in, and we have enough for at least a dueling pair.

The headmaster arrives, he has decided that he might help out Professor Maldow in teaching the students how to duel...

Andrew was the next to arrive; wanting to test out a few new spells Professor Gupta had taught him and see how effective they were.

Violeta and Ashley arrive, and sit to the side as if observing for now.

Thomas arrives and heads to the Headmaster
''Should we show them how a Duel is done?''

James smiles,
"I believe we should."

[Sonke]

Thomas smiled back
''What are the Spell limitations?''

[Dark Storm]

James thought, momentarily,
"Let's stick to what they should know for now."

Arthur comes in and stands at the back, waiting for this duel to end. He hasn't duelled in a while, and felt like teaching some students how to do it.

Weatherby took up a position were he could see the combatants clearly, his eyes wide with excitement. While he hoped to get a turn on the runway, he could barely contain himself at the opportunity to watch the Headmaster and his professor duel.

'Hey James, are bets allowed?'
Arthur spoke up from the back.

James raised an eyebrow slightly,
"Yes..."
he grinned
"though I get a cut of all profits."

'Alright. 200 galleons on James!'
Arthur smiles.

Cecil enters and stands at the side to observe his Professor and Headmaster's duel, privately more than a little eager for his own chance on the dueling platform.

Atticus stood by. Clearly the professors were planning to demonstrate something, but he waited for an explanation as the throng of students began to grow.

'Sorry bud, I've known James for a long time.'

James waited for his fellow Professor to explain, after all, it had been his idea...

Thomas stepped on the Duelling Platform. He looked at all the Students
''Welcome to the Duelling Club. As in the Lessons you don't get to train for the Duels, then some students have decided to form this Duelling Club and I have agreed to Sponsor it. Here you can use spells, what you know and what you have learned, but don't use Spells, that would send your opponent to the infirmary. If needed, then I can demonstrate you different techniques. Now to show you the basics of Duelling, the Headmaster has agreed to Duel with me.''
Thomas looked at the Headmaster
''James, would you now join me? Everyone can place bets. I know, that the Potions Professor has already done that.''
