Quite a while ago I bought parts for a brand new desktop: a new power supply GPU, monitor, etc. but I found that once I replaced the power supply my disk drive stopped working. At the time it wasn't such a big deal, but I've been wanting to replay Medieval II again lately so I need my disk drive to work. :l
I've already checked all the wiring on the power supply, neither of the free wires fit into the remaining slot behind the disk drive. There's already one plug in the disk drive, but it connects to the motherboard (I think?) not the power supply. The disk drive worked with the crappy, default power supply, but that one was too weak for my GPU. I think the wattage on this one is...600? I can check if that would help find a solution.
Is it common for power supplies to not have a wire for the disk drive? Is it possible that I plugged something into the wrong area and have somehow had a functioning computer this whole time? Anything at all you can do to help me, TWC? D:
