Default Which type of GPU does Rome prefer?

Med 2 is based on the RTW engine, so I am presuming it is safe to say which ever card runs better on RTW will apply to Med 2??????

Some cards run certain games much faster than others, and seen as the Nvidia 7900GTX and Ati's X1900XTX are very similar can anyone predict/assume which will play Med 2 the best?

Thanks for any replies, because a net search regarding which of the 2 plays RTW better has come up empty!

I think that Rome favours nVidia.

Rome don't favor any one of the graphics cards, it will run fine on either ATI or nVIDIA.

Well i thought i seen a "plays best on nVidia" slogan on load up. But yes it will work on both, but there are somegames that favour different manufacturers.

Thats just some nVIDIA advertisements trying to get other people to think nVIDIA is better, in reality ATI runs the game as well as nVIDIA.

    Hello Incinerate!
LT_1956 has exhaustivly tested both brands and believes that RTW,SPQR and M2TW etc. will all run better on nVidia. The box for RTW says compatable with all nVidia GeForce3 or higher cards (thats going way back) and lists only the ATI 8500 thru 9800 series, thats only 6 of their cards! Now, we all know that more than just 6 of ATI's cards will run RTW but LT_1956 thinks its a heat issue as nVidida cards run cooler and RTW seems to be sensitive to GPU overheating.
He believes its something to do with the gaming engine.
I also looked around, and noticed that CA games in general run better on nVidida GPUs so I'm assuming they design their games around nVidias card specs. Sort of a simbiotic relationship of sorts. All game manufacturers design with the latest GPUs taken into account, thats why some games run better on ATI, like Far Cry and Serious Sam, while others run better on nVidia, like RTW,Doom3 or Starfleet Command III....all CA games by the way....hope this helps.

Once you get past a certian # of soldiers on the battlefield for all intents and purposes it becomes CPU-bound, you wont notice a difference between same-gen cards from Nvidia or ATI. I suppose if you really wanted to remove the CPU limitation you could turn AA and Texture filtering up to an obcene level, but this is going to kill your framerate.
