Default Total War: Romance of the Three Kingdoms

I'd like to see it happen, personally. I know the Koei company has this subject monopolized, and I just think Creative Assembly could add a lot to a stagnant theme. It has so much potential for a Total War game, honestly.

Oh god I would love it...

But I think it would better be called "Three Kingdoms: Total War", despite the fact there are several "Three Kingdoms" eras throughout history.

at least, why don't Spring and Autumn Period? Warring States Period? Southern and Northern Dynasties, or Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period???

You say like Chinese's history don't have anything except Three Kingdom era.

if the time events were as charm as in three kingdoms then it will be good for CA to introduce them to us.
    yet I doubt they are.

the thing I'm more concerned of is if they could make the AI to act so that it will match the events sequence of that period.

also, I'm more concerned about the different formation applied to diffent units as well as utilaizing the enviroment surrounding the armies.

I do believe that the rule of general and stratigist aren't limited to bonus and inspiring troops.
I feel duels and debats should be introduced to the TW series.

logistics are essential part dameging supplies to looting. army plots from fake reports to general defections.

threats , punishment and gifts should effect the generals loyalties.

fire attacks , hidden attacks and attacking enemy with water flood all these should be introduce to the game.

cut sceans. powerful items. maybe kingdoms ubder attack style fits the game better than TW.

    well well.

    - 300 year for Spring and Autumn Period. We can't image how many faction in this game. Many faction from many civilization more than only Han's civilization ( Chu kingdoms from the Yue's civilization. of course). That mean many special unit, many different unit to use.
    - 200 years for Warring States Period. One more " Spring and Autumn Period" easier version to made.
    - 170 years for Southern and Northern Dynasties. May be the most bad timeline to made in game. But we have many faction from Tuoba, Xianbei. That mean we isn't only have Han civilization to play.
    - 70 years for Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms Period, with at least 15 faction to use. The Timeline under Tang civilization with many weapon to made. 3 among these faction is from Shatua Turk while we can included more many "outside" kingdoms like Liao, Balhae, Dali.

and Three Kingdoms? well, we only have 3 faction in 70 years. All of them is Han civilization. Actually, we hard to made the interesting game about only Threee Kingdoms. That is reason why they usually included game with the End of Han dynasty ( beginning from Yellow Turban Rebellion) with more many faction to play. ( and more important problem: too many Three kingdoms strategic game already)

fire attacks , hidden attacks, logics, water flood,...? Oh well, what Chinese timeline don't have anything like that?

    All very true...

Perhaps a game with a grand campaign for each era? Of course, it would be a massive game. Or, one game and expansion packs for the others. Don't forget, there were other, minor factions during the era...Perhaps they could be sort of "emergent" factions?

By the way, someone started a Three Kingdoms mod for RTW (Barbarian Invasion, iirc), but I don't know if they are still working on it. Might be worth checking into.

I think the same period that was covered by the novel would suffice. The three kingdoms series has really gone downhill since Koei became Tecmo Koei. Maybe CA could do the series some justice.

Not really. There are eras/settings that are much more interesting to me.

    Too much monoculture.

If there was any TW in which china was to play a highly prominent role (barring Vicky TW, which of course should be made before any other title), I'd rather focus the game on that bunch of angry smelly nomads up north of china who conquered the largest land empire in history. From the baltic to baghdad to Vietnam to Japan. Song dynasty naturally is one of the primary factions, but not the lead.

But no no no no no Chinese only game.
