I want to see this movie. Very badly. Apparently its already had its premier last year at the Toronto Film Festival and should be seeing some form of theatrical release in "Spring 2012". It does give you the vibe of being some level of limited release.

Be forewarned that this trailer is a mature audience trailer and features swearing & violence. I couldnt actually find a general audience trailer on youtube, but there is one at Apple trailers if you really dont want to hear the f-word.

I honestly dont know why its taken people this long to make this movie. It looks fantastic. I mean... it has a drive-by shooting... on westboro baptist protesters. I'm shocked that hasnt happened in real life yet let alone a movie.

Strangely I was having a conversation last night about the cast of Police Academy like Bobcat Goldthwait and we wondered what he was doing. Evidently I missed 'ascended to godhood'.

Looks pretty dumb. Also didn't they already make this movie with Dwight from The Office? They even had his teenage girl sidekick.

Wonder if they kill comedians like Bobcat Goldthwait in the movie?

As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

I think you need to watch it a little more closely, it's entirely the same premise, he goes off on everything he hates about a perceived decay in modern society.

How is someone who shoots contestants and audience members in a talent show justified or sane?

Also, considering shooting a gun in a movie theater also disturbs the other movie watchers, shouldn't he shoot himself?

Because he is no longer sane?

I like this (rather unpopular) opinion from some guy on YouTube

This comment has received too many negative votes
It looks like a cross between Kick-Ass and Falling Down: a kind of "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore" scenario souped up with smug modern nihilist-chic. Probably not as clever as it thinks it is...Pulp, posing as satire.

Over all, this seems like some movie that I will end up see at a friend's place several years from now. And I'll be like "yup, that was as stupid as I thought it was going to be..." Buy hey, I've been wrong before with movies like this.

Unless it ends with suicide because their gratuitous violence is just another symptom of this lack of civilization, this film is hypocritical.

I'll still watch it some day though.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...

I'd say if there is any one thing on the planet that civilization has been accompanied by more than any other it's gratuitous violence. Possibly sex. But violence is right up there.

Except they are not killing people, its a movie. They are killing what those people represent. Those characters are just anthropomorphic traits in society that we hate.

And they've chosen to represent it with gratuitous violence, which is an eerily similarly hated trait in society.

How you fail to notice the hypocrisy is beyond me.

I don't think randomly slaughtering people without either a material or defensive interest has ever had a great deal to do with civilisation...

Thats what Hitler used to say.

Anyway, its a degrading concept. Falling Down was great because it didnt pretend to be funny and "anthropomorphic". It deals with a multi layered persona snapping at some point, while this movie is showing a bunch of self rightious cliches turning rampant on flat characters we should hate, like all they do or will do in life is being mad about the sweet 16 car and thus deserve to die.

Shoot them, problems solved. And dont forget to have fun!
