My monitor tends to randomly go into power saving mode, usually while gaming. I can usually fix it by restarting, but it's happening with more and more frequency now.

How old is your ggraphics card and power supply?

About 2 years. Also, it started happening after I left the computer on for a few days on end if that matters.

My computer never shuts off.
Some input devices do not seem to "trigger" the screen saver, so if you are playing games on a gamepad or the like it might be turning off since it doesn't count that as input.
Turn power saving off all together and see what happens.
