Yes, it worked fine. I just substituted campaign.tree_list for startpos in the command window.

This does open up many possibilities for the future. I wonder if the blokes in Rome II and Attila figured this out yet. Maybe they just have better dev. tools than we do.

I think they do. Could you re-pack it? I can't seem to.

    It should look like this:

I should have dropped the .esf from the second command, though. Because this isn't an ordinary .esf, it goes by atypical nomenclature. I think if you just renamed the file without .esf it'll work. (I haven't verified.)

Nope, doesn't re-pack it. I have seen that there is a script inside the "taw-etwng-cafbcf3" folder called "campaign_tree_list_pack and unpack. But i have no idea how to use it.

Ok, i tried with the campaign_tree_list_unpack file, but i have a run time error:
    taw-etwng-cafbcf3\esfxml>jruby campaign_tree_list_unpack campaign.tree_list campaign.tree_list_dir
RuntimeError: Requested reading past end of file (campaign.tree_list:2378103) - 4

I also tried with the following link, i replaced the esf2xml, parser, builder and converter (because just using it was not working). It did extracted it, but not packing it. Error:

Yeah, it didn't look quite right to me.

This is beyond me, then. I've asked Leonardo if he can stop by. He knows the tools well, maybe he'll have the answer.

I'm sorry I can't help you, because I've no idea how it works in S2TW since I have only played 5 hours.

However, I do know that HusserlTW created a few S2TW tools, so I suggest to try these two tools.

http://www.theassimilationlab.com/fo...variant-files/ (try this first since it convert an esf to something I dunno what it is)
http://www.theassimilationlab.com/fo...rences-editor/ (I'm not sure if this tool is the right tool or not)

EDIT: Perhaps ForteS's tutorial is what you need to read. Also, read this tutorial.

Thanks for the info. I actually used one of those tools to extract and re-pack the campaign.tree_list. It actually worked (by using some files of the previous tools that I was using). I just had to rename the repacked file (it created a startpos.esf) to campaign.tree_list. I opened it with esf editor and it showed the necessary files. I just didn't tested it yet, as I am busy with other things.

Thanks, Leonardo. You're not the hero we wanted, but you're the hero we needed.
