First impressions

The mod is brilliant, the unit cards are graphically the best I ever saw in a RTW-based game and the run and eagerness of the game is the limit. It is enormous atmospheric !

The only drop of bitterness are the battle / after battle CTD´s:

I defeated 3 full stacks of Alemanni with only one army in a 30-40 minute-battle. I waited 45 seconds until I clicked “continue” in order to return to the campaign map… then the crash occured

Afterwards I besieged an Alemanni town and the “old” RTW-crash occurred when an Alemanni relief army emerged and I annihilated both armies in a field battle. This happened a couple of times as yet (I´m in my 6th turn, i.e. the end of my first year). Yesterday I fought a field battle against a full stack Alemanni army with one of my own full stack armies. The battle “freezed” after about 5 minutes and then a black display screen emerged and I had to switch of my computer and without shutting down windows.

I thougt that I have a good and powerful PC with an adequate graphic card, because I played Roma Surrectum II almost one year without a single CTD (!!!).

But apart from these CTD´s this is a fantastic mod. Thank you very much for the enjoyment while playing this game !

As I said elsewhere, battles with the Alemanni tend to result in the most post-battle CTD's for me too. I don't know why. Siege battles are especially prone, and I've taken to avoiding them altogether. Having said that, other crashes are totally unrelated to PC hardware, you can have the most amazing rig and RTW will still crash - it's the engine instability, nothing to do with your PC.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoy the mod. And yes, those post battle CTDs are a pain in the butt. I wonder though whether if you lowered your graphics settings that this may make a difference. I'm curious, so it would be good if somebody could try this and report back.

I shall try to switch-off the anti-aliasing today. I think, that is one of the "tricks" that make RS II so stable. To disable anti-aliasing is highly recommended in the RS-II introduction.

I get a lot of crashes while playing the franks, i replayed the same battle 3 times before realizing i realized the cdt won't stop. Its amazing i can battle the other factions and its ok but not those pesky franks(which im starting to hate!!).

Try the advice of the post above you, turning off the anti-aliasing and see if that helps. You will find that under the graphics section in the menu when you load the game.
