Thread: Hayeren! (Armenian)

    this is great!

We, the Greeks, think highly of the Armenian people for we have both struggled through the Turkish occupations and enslavement of our people!

    NOW IS THE TIME!!!

Turkey's election has yielded radical islamists, and Greece and Armenia should unite to take back what is theirs!

Persian lords gave names to armenians(when armenia was a part of persian empire), if you were a smith... ur child would be named Son of a smith. -ian mean -son. If your name is Harutunian. Someone in ur family was named Harut.

So, I was in Istanbul about a week ago...and now I really don't understand why people in the Diaspora are saying that Armenians in Turkey are being "suppressed". We went into a huge, 5 story jewelry shop right on the banks of the Bosphorus next to the Egyptian Bazaar, and it was owned by none other than......an Armenian. He said that he (and most other of the 60,000 Armenians living there) don't care for the politics, they're just there for the economics.

Thats no news to me?! Who's said armenians are being suppressed, economically they are protected. Its the 21st century, turkey couldnt do a thing without it being noticed, and all their talk of a membership in EU makes them ignore it now. And what would the really earn on suppressing armenians now. Its like saying, I went to germany last month.. and I saw a jew who were a millionaire. Even though the jewish genocide isnt really to compare with the armenian. Though there are differences, but still similiar stuff to.

Well, around here, there are people that say that the Turks have pushed the Armenians in Turkey into a dark hole, and that they're too afraid to come out. I mean,I guess I was wrong in using the word suppressed. Maybe too strong

Maybe so hehe, well Im sure there still are tensions and hatred but not in a way that they throw armenians in ghettos or "suppress" them. There probably are discriminations but maybe more rare then we think. I couldnt say for sure. But then there are also many armenians(with armenian origin) who have turkish names and live like muslims. Like a cover, being afraid of getting supressed.
