    Default Main Campaign Won't Start

TATW(3.1 vanilla) will open, and runs custom battle, Fellowship campaign, etc. But when I try to run the Third Age campaign, it opens the faction selection screen, but as soon as I press start, it goes back to the single player menu and won't let me click on Third Age campaign. This started occurring after I uninstalled and reinstalled all my files, so I could have multiple installs. I thought that maybe it was the files of all the submods I had (RC, AUM, Gondor Armor, etc.), so I deleted the Third_Age_3 folder and did a clean install, to no effect. Anyone know a solution?

Do you have the boxed or Steam version of M2TW?
If using Vista or Win 7, did you disable UAC before installing?

Its not the Steam version, I got it from a torrent. I have 7, but I installed it the same way I did when I first downloaded it, and it worked fine before. I can try disabling UAC, see if that works.

Are you saying that your version of M2TW was downloaded from a torrent, or you downloaded the mod using a torrent?

Just being thorough but do you have the Kingdoms expansion for M2TW?
Did you try the suggestions in this thread?

Hi. I downloaded Third age two days ago. Yes ive played it before. I followed the directions of the UAC. I own the total war, and expansion on a DVD/CD. My Main campaign will not start, but prior to it i did have a saved game in the campaign which did work. I deleted it thinking the 3.2 patch was not running properly because of it. I'm not too sure on what other steps i need to take, and i don't mind having to get really in depth on trying to figure out how to get the game running again. Any response is appreciated, i will probably start by uninstalling and re installing the 3.1 and 3.2 patches.

I have also had problems with the main campaign not starting. I tried the fixes outlined by Germanicus in the suggested thread, but none of them seem to work. I am running the steam version of kingdoms, with the MOS mod and Third Age 3.2. I did not have this issue when I was playing Third Age vanilla, but now i cannot start the campaign. I've tried uninstalling and re installing it, but it doesn't seem to work. Custom battles work fine, but when i try to start a third age campaign, it just goes back to the single player menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if by won't start you mean it's knocking you back to main menu try deleting the map.rwm file -> Third_Age_3 /data/world/maps/base/

I'm getting the same problem as original post. When trying to start a campaign it just loops round to single player menu. This only started after installing MOS unmodded third age ran fine. I'm running retail version on windows 8 with only MOS installed. I have full privileges for folder and daylight savings disabled. Not sure if its releated but on opening third age there is windows script host error. Specifically G5AIswitcher.vbs line 26 char 23 Permission denied. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having the same issue and I really would love to play MOS but it wont let me start a campaign. I clicked run as administrator during install and edited security. MTW does not appear in virtual store so that shouldn't be causing it. I use windows 8 with steam install.

I have the same Problem which was already mentioned. I installed the FRoGS Submod and now I get kicked to the Singleplayer screen when I try to start a campaign. I would really appreciate if someone knows a fix for this problem.

Hello, I've been having a problem with my Total War: Third Age campaign. It opens and lets me select a faction, then plays their intro, and loads, but when it finishes loading Medieval 2 just shuts down.
I tried the Daylight Savings and the User Account Control fixes but neither work.
I'm using Steam and a Windows 7 Computer.
I have MoS 1.6.2 Installed as well.
    Please help. :/
