RTR crashing on load screen?

What can cause a clean version of RTR gold to crash on the opening credit window? I cant get my game to even load. Someone please help me play the game.

Are you sure that you patched to the right patch before installing? And did you have a mod before this and didn't reinstall?

I installed then put the patch in.

He means have you got 1.2 instaled beofore installing RTR gold, and i beleve RTR gold is RTR 6.0 + 6.1 + 6.2

Thats your problem. Patches mess around with some of the text files, I believe, so what you in effect did was overwrite files with RTR, then overwrite some of your new RTR files with the patch. I am pretty sure that is how it works, and even if it isnt, it is still your problem. No biggie though, just reinstall and then patch first and then get RTR

And by the way, wtahc out for Maceodnia. Although my mod fixed them in RTR they roughly are god
