so what do you think is the best heavy metal, rock or what ever is the best for me it would be between
Queen
Judas priest
Iron maiden
Very tough question- and one I'll struggle to answer.
I'm going to say, with a little controversy, Guns and Roses. fantastic song writing, even if they annoy me from time to time. Still a grade A band.

Black Sabbath.
Queen sucks...
The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be used until they try and take it away.Staff Officer of Corporal_Hicks in the Legion of Rahl

Black Sabbath, who can beat Paranoid?
Queen is not my favorite rock band, but it's up there in my top 20.
Judas Priest hands down...
Untill they got Owens instead of Halford....
Owens sucks majorly, he was a bad replacement for Halford and he is even a worser replacement for Barlow in Iced Earth...
Easy question. Why the originators of heavy metal. That of course being Sabbath.
I have nothing against the womens movement. Especially when Im walking behind it.
"With their diseases and orgasm drugs and their sexless parasite life forms - Heavy Metal People of Uranus wrapped in cool blue mist of vaporized bank notes - And the Insect People of Minraud with metal music"
Burroughs, William S, (1964). Nova Express. New York: Grove Press. p. 112
"I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under"
Steppenwolf, "Born to be Wild" 1968
The first use of the term as characterisation of a music genre was probably by Sandy Pearlman, original producer, manager and songwriter for the BlueÖysterCult , in 1970.
From a musical perspective there were two distinct "heavy metal" periods. The first is the so-called early heavy metal period, 1964-1977 (Yardbirds, Cream, Jeff Beck Group, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, Blue Cheer, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly) culminated by "the only three bands that mattered" (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple according to Robert Walser, Running with the Devil, 1993).
The second heavy metal period, 1978-now(Black Sabbath,Van Halen, WhiteSnake, Anthrax, Megadeth, Deaf Jam, Hawkwind, Metallica and others) and the first have one thing in common. Both have been anchored by the same song:
"You Really Got Me" by The Kinks (1964) and Van Halen (1978).
My personal fave is of course the sublime Motörhead
Brain dead, total amnesia,
Get some mental anasthesia,
Don't move, I'll shut the door and kill the lights,
And if I can't be wrong I could be right,
All good clean fun,
Have another stick of gum,
Man, you look better already,
Motorhead, remember me now Motorhead, alright

Led Zeppelin! Among the founders of heavy metal, a long with Black Sabbath and others of course. I also like Metallica, they are awesome!
IDK if they classify as metal, they are something completely different imo.Originally Posted by hunter260859
Speaking of them I saw David Gilmore when he was in the Chicago area. Was excellent.

An easy question. Which Heavy Metal Gods are still going strong years after being founded? IRON MAIDEN is the answer:
