    Default Transfiguration class

The Transfiguration class is the place where usually all the Transfiguration lessons are held. The classroom itself is big, surrounded by high windows, has four rows of three desks, and still has enough room for several cages and bookshelves, two chalkboards, and a desk for the professor.

Although most of the objects were destroyed as the classroom is located on the floor ground, Professor Milo Forsyth has managed to mend most of the objects, while transfiguring some rocks for the needed replacements.

The Transfiguration office, Professor McGonagall's office before she retired last year, is located on the first floor of the Defence against the Dark Arts Tower. Anyone who whishes to talk to professor Milo can knock on the door and wait for the answer. No visitors allowed starting with 15 minutes until bedtime.

Weatherby was unsure of himself as he approached the Transfiguration classroom. He had heard stories about how difficult Transfiguration could be, and he hadn't developed a confidence in his magical abilities - even in simple areas - quite yet. He just hoped he wouldn't do anything to embarrass himself on the first day...

The door opened and Professor Forsyth came holding a piece of paper in his left hand. Looking around, he saw a pupil who seemed unsure of himself looking, almost staring, at him. Smiling to himself, he thought "So that's how I must've looked when I was his age".

Drawing his wand from his dark blue robes, he used a non-verbal spell to stick the announcement to the door while thinking "That must've awed him a little". And with that, he entered back in the classroom, to prepare it for the upcoming classes.

    The announcement read:

"Transfiguration students are required to bring one of their valuable posessions (no pets, no expensive objects allowed) to be transfigured and then that object will remain here until the respective students themselves will be able to transfigure them back, even if it will take a few years."

OOC: The class will start same as the rest (probably Monday?). There will be 4 classes each year (2 weeks, 2 classes per week) with each class lasting for 2 and a half days. Classes will start 24 hours after the the announcement says so (there will be an OOC announcement for each class, leaving 1 and a half day for RP). If you join the class after it started, you will lose points unless you have RP it very well.

Points will be given on every class, the sum of which will be your note at the end of the year. Students will receive the following final notes - 5 the first 20%, 4 the next 40%, 3 the next 40% and 1-2 for no-show or no-RP. Exams will be at the end of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th years. On the 5th and 7th years, the notes at OWLS and NEWTS count as your final scores.

The professor is straightforward, not very used to lies and likes people who know the things they should know. This is a hint for RP: Ravenclaws and Slytherins will benefit from this if RP properly, as Ravenclaws have the gifts the professor likes in people, while Slytherins could trick the professor into thinking the same about them.

Atticus came to class with all the requisite materials, including a pressed flower. He guessed this could be his most valued possession at Hogwarts at the moment, anyway. He found only one in a small cluster of grass beside the Lake and had never seen any like it since. It was nice to look at, but since it contained no magical properties he could determine, he wouldn't mind losing it.

Fritz enters, and hopes the stories of the teacher turning students into frogs wasn't true, as he would prefer to stay a human

Xander turned up to class with a pencil that had been in his pocket since the station. It most certainly wasn't his most prized possession, not by a long shot. He would spin a tale about how it was his only link with the outside world or something, which would probably satisfy Forsyth.

Cecil walked into the Transfiguration room without any swagger. Transfiguration...he had no idea how well he would perform here, it wasn't like Charms where he had assured himself of his own capabilities, or Potions where he was beyond personal doubts absolutely atrocious, at least for now. Soon enough though, his stony expression cracked and was replaced by a smile at the Dalcas as he sat down next to Ashley and opposite Violeta.

William walked into Transfiguration class, having no idea what the class had in store for him, he knew nothing about Transfiguration and thus had no idea what if any ability he had with Transfigurations. William walked slowly to the first open seat he saw, this seat just happend to be near Ashley and Violeta.

Turning to face the classroom, the professor spoke:

-Well, you are early. The class will start in 20 minutes, so until then feel free to talk to each other, but keep it down. I still have some things to do.

And with that, the professor went about arranging some more objects to their rightful places.

OOC: 12 hours till the class starts. this is to give other people a chance to arrive in time. you can rp in the meantime, but keep it contained to the timeframe.

Steven arrives to the class being sleepy. He sat next to Atticus and moved his hand near to Atticus hand. He also got his valuable posessions.

Although Andrew only had a real affection for Charms, he was rather interested slightly in Transfiguration and took a seat near the front of the class, hoping to further his knowledge of the area. He nervously looked around at the other students as he prepared for the lesson.

-Hello students, my name is Milo Forsyth and I will be teaching Transfiguration. Transfiguration is an important branch of magic that deals with transformation of objects and beings to and from other objects or beings. By year 5 you will learn all the spells that you will need later in life.

Now, who can tell me what is the most important thing in Transfiguration, hmm?

Andrew also raised his hand; not having much of a clue but making an educated guess.

"Or would it be Visualizing the end product?"

-No, that's the action of transforming one object to another. But what happens if you transform yourself? Do you consider yourself an object?

-You are pretty near about the end product, but it's not about visualizing it. Who else?

Atticus raised his hand, ignoring Steven completely.

The most important aspects of transfiguration are to know the proper incantations and wand movements. Transfiguration appears to be a precise art, the smallest variation from the canon could bring about disastrous results.
