    Default [RS 2.5] Four turns per year - New Version 1.2

    Since there have been quite a lot of people asking about a 4tpy-script for the new, and awesome, RS 2.5, I decided that I would make one.

    I think it is known what it does, but I will summarize it nevertheless:

    This script will allow 4 turns in one year. It is activated with the normal backgroundscript. Character aging traits and movement points have been adjusted.
    There was no adjustment of building times
    , or traits.

    V1.1:
    - Adjusted the trait system.

    Download

    Install instructions:

    Unpack the .zip file, and choose the option you prefer (i.e. 3xsummer 1x winter, or 2x summer 2x winter). Open the folder of the option you prefer. You should see a bunch of "play_... (arverni, for example).

    Copy and paste them all into your main RS2 folder. The main RS2 folder is the folder where your rtw.exe is placed, too. Select overwrite.


    Rember to both delete your map.rwm files and start a new game. While you can play older save games, the trait system will be messed up completely.


    This is the patch for Roma Surrectum 2.5 . Do not use it with any other version. If you want to play it with 2.1, use this one made by Spartan 666.

    HUSTON!!!!!! we have a problem!!!
    Characters are aging 1 year every 2 turns still
    I am palying the Spartan campaign, if that's not too obvious already

    No, they're not. Just checked. 1 year every 4 turns.

    Maybe you did not install all the files of the submod?

    How wrong?

    I have copied the files in my RS2 folder, overwriting the old data.... have the same problem

    2 Turns are one Year....

    Where did you install RSII? If you installed in the Program files folder in Win7 it will block certain files.

    I have install RS2 and RTW in a separate Hard drive (E) (all my games are there). Win7 is install under C:\ ...

    Maybe do a fresh install of RSII and redownload this submod and apply. Sometimes you just get a corrupted file and the only fix is to download again.
    I have been using this submod since he released it and so far no problems.

    great stuff , i find it hard to play with just 2 turns per year so this is looking like im starting a long campaign now , cheers

    Nightmare Moon:

    I see a slight problem with your mod: now the 4 seasons are: 2x summer, 2x winter. Actually in the Mediterranean region winter should only last 1 season. Fixed it manually (by changing one "winter" to "summer") in every paragraph of the script :-D

    Otherwise it's perfect.

    You do not really need my permission to do that - the amount of work I did was pretty small, especially compared with the work the creators of RS did. But you have my permission.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Well, it is hard to simulate the weather in any realistic way.

    My main reason to add 2 winter seasons was to extend the importance of winter and summer seasons.

    I also think that in some regions winter can last close to half a year.

    But if you want to upload your changes, then feel free to do it, as there seems to be an interest for it.

    Did you check if the script works at all, i.e. you have two summer and two winter seasons?

    If you have the seasons, then your bug is due to corrupted files. It is hardcoded in the engine that the characters age +1 if the summer season changes to the winter season. You can have 40000000 (or more) turns winter or summer, as long they donīt change from summer to winter, your characters wonīt age.

    If this isnīt the case for you, somethings wrong with your files or the engine, and you should reinstall, as it is likely that you will experience other bugs, too.

    If you donīt have the seasons: Well, then the script likely isnīt working at all. Check if you copied the mod in the correct path, that you deleted the map.rwm , and whether the script activates at all when starting a new campaign.

    You can notice whether the script starts by trying to save the game. If it didnīt activate, the save and load buttons will be greyed out and you canīt use them.

    After ending your turn, please also check your cheat console - Open it by pressing ^ , and then press "up" to see the last entered commands. If my script works, there should stand a few commands regarding the date and the season.


    You can also try to download and paste the files again. I will reupload the files, but I just checked them, and everything seems in order. I will also test it on another computer.

    Hi,

    It works now....I've manually delet the 3 files map.rwm in my RTW RS2 folder..
    And then i start a new Campaign! 2XSummer2X Winter now!


    In my current campaign, it does not work. I dont see in the console the sript commands and i have only one Summer&Winter....Perhaps what was wrong here, I just deleted the map.rwm file with the launcher.


    ....But I have to start always a new campaign for this script ?
    I must play furhter without this script i think... or i start a new campaign .....

    Yes, you have to start a new campaign, no way (I know of) around that.

    If you want a tipp: Continue your current campaign, and finish it. Then make a new campaign with 4tpy, another faction and an another recruitment system (i.e. either 0 or 1 turn), and you have a really different playing experience.
