Greenhouse Two is where all Herbology classes, regardless of year, are currently being held. Also located there is the Herbology Professor's Office, office hours can be given on request but there is to be no visitation without a set appointment. The Greenhouse is mostly empty of plants, bar a few entirely passive but interesting samples, due to the fact that so many inexperienced louts are expected to pass through it on a daily basis. Nonetheless its many pots and cultivation troughs are to be kept viable by extensive fertilisation and careful tending.

Greenhouse One is being utilised as a hot house and storage area for the various samples in storage that remained viable as well as those procured from the Forbidden forest and beyond, as such it is strictly off-limits to all students without direct permission and supervision by the Herbology Professor. Full protective clothing is to be worn while inside at all times. The Greenhouse is secured both physically, by a key, and magically, by a password.

Greenhouse Three on the other hand is now just a smouldering heap of rubble, it was damaged or otherwise adversely affected by the Battle of Hogwarts and several particularly vicious samples, including a Devil's Snare, infested the entire Greenhouse and threatened to overrun the immediate area. After taking some samples Barthus prompted purged the infestation. While not off limits there isn't much to see, although Barthus has found the ash is uniquely fertile.

    Spoiler for Class Schedule/Details
There will be three classes each in game year, which lasts two weeks, and each class will take place across three-four days. Success in each class will be determined by a simple dice roll, either a d6 or a d20, with modifiers attached. The modifiers will be based on your RP preparedness, the amount of RP you do, and the quality of the RP you do. Basically if you actually give a damn and try to get involved in the RP, RP being defined as character interaction, then you'll do well. If you don't... then you won't.

As a simple example, having your Brigandine on you when you arrive will give you a +1 modifier on your class roll! Even if you don't say it in your post as long as you posted that you purchased it in the appropriate thread I will assume you're wearing it. If one has to be provided for you there is no penalty, you simply don't get the +1 modifier. However if you, appropriately, RP that you don't have one and make it part of the story, you'll just get the +1 anyway because you did good RP. Enjoy.

The first class will, formally, begin at 1300GMT on the 25/03/2012. The RP for this class will continue until 1700GMT on the 28/03/2012

Weatherby Wiggins, fresh from the Sorting and eager for his first year to begin, arrived outside Greenhouse Two. His new Brigandine sat somewhat uncomfortably on his shoulders; the heavy material, weighed down by a variety of vicious (and some very basic) looking tools at the hips, pressed firmly into his slender shoulders. He pursed his lips and fumbled with the straps, searching for a better fit, as he waited for other students to arrive.

Atticus arrived in Greenhouse two, excited and ready to begin. He enjoyed plants, was fascinated by them really. He wanted to unlock their secrets, plants in their own right and their magical properties in potions as well. The fact that his head was also the professor would prove more useful. He unpacked his bag in which he had brought all the requisite materials.

Herbology was by no means Fritz's strong suit, but he thought you should pay attention even in the most boring of classes, so he would try to stay awake

Sidious arrived to the green house. He knew that this class will prove most useful and the fact that the professor is the head of Slytherin was promising and opened a lot of possibilities.

Violeta and Ashley arrive at Greenhouse Two, both wearing the required Brigantine. Ashley looks around at the plants, smiling in curiousity while Violeta looks rather nervous as she literally knows nothing about Herbology.

Cecil arrived, wearing his brigandine as required. He cast a wary gaze at the various plants around the room as he made his way toward Weatherby - he wasn't as terrible at Herbology as he was at Potions, but he didn't exactly have faith in his abilities here either.

Xander turned up on time, wearing his Brigandine. He didn't like the way it sat on his shoulders or how it was heavy while at the same time seeming loose. He didn't like much about Herbology, or anything that got his hands dirty, for that matter. Digging in the dirt, listening to boring explanations... he was dreading it already. Sooner we start, sooner we finish, he thought. Let's get this over with.

    ((And class is a go.

Rosen, Pericles and PurePK, I haven't seen you post that you have purchased the Brigandine, so you're getting one tossed at you now. Ponti, I'll just timewarp that our RP happened before this. I'll give people plenty of time to respond, chatter etc. and then move it along pretty fast.))

Barthus arrived, perhaps a few minutes late, to find a gaggle of first years nervously crowded around the entrance to Greenhouse 2. He quickly sorted those he knew from those he didn't in his mind, realising that he really didn't know much about any of them, even those in his own house.

"Gather round!" he intoned," those of you who don't have a Brigandine step to my right, we'll deal with you later, those who do step to my left."

There was some nervous shuffling and the exchange of looks, some seemingly very dire, as though somehow torture was to be the common penalty for failure. Once they were sorted he gave each of them an appraising glance, trying to establish if any of them had a clue about what they were doing. He recognised that Atticus child from a night or two before with the group that had Brigandines.

"Some of you have brought your Herbology textbook," all of them had," and while I appreciate the initiative every class we have this year will be practical in nature and the textbook will only be a material for reference. I still expect you to study the plants you may encounter, but on your own time, so far as I'm concerned a more practical knowledge of the subject is better than having your nose stuck in a book."

He couldn't really gauge how well this news was received, and he wasn't all that worried about it. He walked over to the Greenhouse door, tapped it with his wand once, opened the lock with a key from around his neck, and then tapped the door again before opening it. Greenhouse Two had nothing overtly dangerous in it, bar perhaps the students themselves, but he nonetheless took every precaution to prevent the incident at Greenhouse Three from repeating itself.

"Dump your books here," he said, pointing to a corner just inside the door as he walked further into the Greenhouse," and anyone without a Brigandine follow me, there are some spares at the far end of the Greenhouse, the rest of you wait here."

He walked another few paces before glancing back.

"Except you Atticus, I want your help with something," Atticus looked like a startled deer," now child! The sooner we get started the sooner we can be on our way to the Forbidden Forest."

Atticus had just dumped his book into the corner when he heard his name. He certainly was the popular one today....Called to the headmaster's office earlier...almost poisoned by a Ravenclaw...

    Yes, sir.

Atticus walked over to professor Song and waited further instructions.

Sidious duped his book and followed the professor to get his Brigandine. The Forbidden Forest now that's a place where one can learn a lot. strange herbs that I need to learn, said Sidious to him self cause he was not very versatile with plants when they where out of their ingredient jars. Perhaps the professor will have understanding for students exploring the outskirts of the forest.

Weatherby placed his book neatly in the corner, thankful that he'd fulfilled his mum's pestering about "putting your name on everything". He glanced at Weatherby with raised eyebrows and a slight bob in his head, impressed that he was getting attention for the professor already.

Cecil put his book in the corner as instructed. He heard the Professor talk about heading into the Forbidden Forest, and a strange mixture of both anxiety and excitement filled him. 'Well, at least getting tossed into detention won't be one of the dangers we'll face there this time,' he thought to himself.

OOC : I got one, just didn't post it in your thread for it.
Meeting her cousin outside, the two leave to scour the shops for a pewtwe cauldron and Herbologist's Brigadine. Afterwards, they meet their uncle and return home.
    I thought that was okay.

    ((You already have yours MN.))

"Those of you who don't have them," he said as he tapped a rack of brigandines," take one that fits and then go change in that closet over there, and be quick."

The students set to the rack, there were a good few brigandines there but he wasn't sure of size or even quality.

"Atticus I'll need you to get," he did a quick count of the students," say twenty pots from that stack and place them on the table next to it. Now they're a bit heavy so be careful and don't push yourself, as you put them on the table I'll fill them with some fertilised soil. When we're done," he said as he turned to include the students who were still picking through the rack," each of the students here will carry two, and I'll carry ten. Understood?"

He didn't particularly direct that last bit at anyone and merely walked over to a large trough filled with soil and hefted it over by the table. Then, grabbing a large trowel from his own brigandine, began to aerate it as he prepared to move it into the pots.

    OOC : Fine.

"Those of you who don't have them," he said as he tapped a rack of brigandines," take one that fits and then go change in that closet over there, and be quick."

The students set to the rack, there were a good few brigandines there but he wasn't sure of size or even quality.
Violeta and Ashley quickly scan the rack, searching for two rather decent ones. One looked okay, but lacked half the proper tools. Another had all the tools but had a odor about it. Violeta manages to find a medium sized one that looks okay, doesn't smell and has all the required tools for this class, at least at the quick glance she gave it. She waits for her cousin to pick out one as well, and then the two of them go quickly over to the closet and change. The two emerge and go place their books in the required corner of the Greenhouse.
