    Default CTD Turn 128 Early Campaign

    I've been having a problem with a crash to desktop on a campaign I've been playing during an AI turn. It seems to happen right at the end of the Kiev turn. I'm thinking it might have something to do with new units spawning in for the Teutons since their turn is right after. I used toggle_fow and followed some movements from the Kievan Rus and moved the units that seemed to move right before the crash. That only served to cause it to crash after another Kiev unit moved always towards the end of their turn. it goes to the desktop with the error message: Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. I have tried turning off UAC, running in admin mode, repositioning kievan and teuton units, and installed Germanicus' CTD fixer all to no avail. I'm running with Steam and Windows 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    yeah its the tuetons i think emerging. Search the bugs forum, i think its been worked on before.

    I tried to isolate the exact unit, that was causing the CTD. But then each time I run through turn 128 I got the crash on another faction. Loaded a save from some turns earlier and also got a crash. grrrrr....

    I decided to make a fresh install of MTW2/SS. Haveīnt found the time yet to check if that would solve the problem.

    #1:
    -New install of MTW2
    -new install off SS 6.3 and SS 6.4 with UAC turned off under the subdirectory of C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods
    -all install successful without any error
    -load save of HRE-campaign in turn 128
    -execute new turn --> CTD

    #2:
    -uninstall SS6.4
    -new install of SS6.3/6.4 directly into my user-subdirectory
    -no errors during installs
    -games starts and runs ok
    -load save of HRE-campaign in turn 128
    -execute new turn --> CTD

    plus I am using German language

    I did some more testing. It is definitely the Kievan Rus faction thats causing problems. The faction is down to only one last settlement. There are 3 characters (armies) placed outside the capital. I tried to move those characters via move_character to some place in africa, but was only successful with two of them.

    But the character "Kniazhich Lyutobor" cannot be moved. When I try to move him, it says character not found. I suspect, he might be the one, who is causing the CTD.

    Here's my log. I had actually lost faith anyone was going to help with this. Thanks for the response. I went to the lines in the campaign script that the log mentions towards the end and it refers to a siege at palanga. Having a hard time deciphering what the code means but I remember looking for solutions to this months ago and someone else had a problem with teutons besieging palanga. I think there might be some kind of glitch under certain circumstances if the teutons are or are not besieging it. In my case they are not. Not sure if I'm on the right track with that or not but any help would still be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Thought I could just add a bit to the confusion here.
    I get CTD's on that same turn 128 during the end of the Kiev Rus move.
    In my game Kiev is "normal" sized. The Teutons have declared war on both me (Lithuania) and Poland and are besieging Palanga (Polish). Palanga however rebelled during the siege and evicted the Polish garrison somehow ending the siege. This was the error log I could find:

    So it seems to be to do with the Teutonic Order Emergent scripting
    The previous code before this spawns a Teutonic Order army.
    What is the cleanest way of fixing this one without having any adverse effects on the Teutonic Order?
    And will editing it straight from the campaign_script.txt work for the current campaign?

    Just a stab at the issue, have you tried to just simply use the surrender_regions (faction name) and where (faction name) is place the name of the faction that is causing the issue. It may work.
