    Default Ravenclaw Common Room

    Ravenclaw Common Room
Head of House: Professor Thomas Maldow

The Ravenclaw common room is in one of the castle's towers and is wide and circular. You have to climb a spiral staircase to get there. It has graceful arched windows, and the walls are hung with blue and bronze silks. The domed ceiling is painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. Tables, chairs, and bookcases cover the expanse of the floor, and a white-marble statue of Rowena Ravenclaw sits next to the door that leads to the dormitories above. Ravenclaw House prizes learning, wisdom, and wit in its members. Thus, many Ravenclaws tend to be academically motivated and talented students.

John walked into the Ravenclaw common room after an exhausting walk up from the great hall. He immediately sat in a corner and read until other first-years came.

John ran into the Ravenclaw boy's dormitory and jumped onto the bed nearest the window, as if it was running away from him. This is my bunk he shouted to the nearby Ravenclaw students.

The owl hopped into the room and held out its leg towards John. The attached not read:

    "Dear John,

Your Great Aunt Ethelbert has passed away. I know you didn't know her well, but she has bequeathed you 200 galleons and a pair of old dress robes, both of which will be sent to you shortly following this letter.

    With love,
    Mum"

John felt a mixture of emotions, stirring within him, happiness at the gain of 200 galleons and sadness that a family member passed away.

Augustus walked into the common room, ignoring John, as usual. He picked up the book he had been reading in his spare time, "The Count of Monte Cristo", went to the nearest chair, and sat.

After doing his required studying, Augustus decided to read his mail, often realizing he had failed potions, he disregarded it entirely, he had never cared much for potions anyway. He sent the permission slip, with an attached note written in Ukrainian explaining what to do, because his parents refused to speak or read English.
After a bit of sitting around, he decided to ask John something.
"John, haven't you noticed that Steven, who is a fellow Ravenclaw, never actually enters the Common Room?"

León entered into the common room after a long, very long day of school, where he almost passed unawared, like if he wasn't there or even like he didn't exist. Being what some called a "muggle" (he realised it after listening some random boys chatting) wasn't helping in matching up with the others.

He really didn't learn anything in the first day of school, more over, he actually felt like he ended knowing less than what he thought he knew after coming to Hogwarts. He even thought coming over here was a mistake, a big mistake. At least in the "muggle world" he was like the "main attraction" the first day of school, due his foreign origins.

"Well, this will be just like the others schools I've been" thought León as he walked away of two boys he sitting in the common room, who where talking about some other guy that never showed up in the Common Room. León couldn't care less about it. "Yes, like the other schools" insisted León, as he walked upstairs, to the dorm. Deep inside him, León knew this wouldn't be like the other school he had ever been.

León walked into Ravenclaw's common room, looking a bit low since he had a pretty tough week. He began feeling the pressure of the school, and the following depression.

First of all, he found the Defence Against Dark Arts class rather tedious, dull and, above all, unconfortable. Also, he thought professor Maldow didn't know how to give his class, since he just began asking question to the students. Moreover, he usually ignored first years, with the exception of that Hufflepuff girl León met the other day at Potions class

In addition, the boy hadn't had entered to many of his transfiguration classes, since professor Forsyth always shutted down the door before he could enter, altough he and his fellow Ravenclaw friends had talked to him. The boy felt impotent, since it was a long distance, from the greenhouses (where Herbology, the class he had before transfiguration) to the transfiguration classroom, he had to travel, as he thought Professor Forsyth was being inflexible.

León walked unsteady to a spot near fire, flopping down in the cossy sofa, and leaving his stuff in the floor. The boy shuggred and rubbed his hands. It was a cold evening. He started thinking if doing some homework now would be a good idea. He shook his head. He wasn't in the mood; homework could wait.
