Default Switching exe from Alex to BI

When I installed RS2 2.1a about 15 months ago, the research I'd read on the threads then seemed to indicate that Alex was the best exe to use because it had the best AI. So installed vanilla RTW then Alex then RS2 as per the instructions. Worked fine.

Since then, I read something from one of the developers who liked BI better because it was more stable and the AI wasn't that much better.

If I want to try BI, can I just install it into my current RS2 folder or do I have to do a whole new install to get it in?

    Thanks.
"With a population of around a million, Rome (in Claudius' time) was a vast city even by modern standards. It is worth pointing out that during the early Renaissance the population of Rome was no more than fifteen thousand-- living amid the ruins of a civilization that dwarfed their own. It was not until the nineteenth century that the population of Rome returned to the levels it had enjoyed under the Caesars. That is eloquent proof of the fact that human history is not a tale of steady progress towards greater knowledge and achievement." Simon Scarrow

I'm in a similar position except I couldn't find my BI or Alex CDs, of course they've turned up now so I want to have a go with BI - did simply installing them work for you without problems Paladin?

You need to have BI installed before you install RSII.

I believe the RSII overwrites some BI files. So, if you install BI onto a RSII install there is a chance that you will mess up your RSII install.

Personally, I keep a RTW/RTW BI install on my hard drive and also a RTW/RTW BI/RTW Alex install. I just copy the one I want to use for a base for a new mod.

The only thing that RTW BI gives you over RTW Alex is the ability for some units to swim (if they have the right attributes) and the shield wall ability.
