How to disable dust?

How do I disable the dust in battles? The particle system I believe it is...as I cannot see it in the video options menu in game.

Have you tried reducing max_particles in descr_particle.txt ? Perhaps set it to 10, or 0 if that can be done without issues. Just a thought.

I remember there use to be an option in the video options menu, but I no longer see it.

Also I want to remove the dust (particle effects) because it taxes the system and therefore the game runs a bit slower.
