I have a question with Hill fort. Is that the village or town without Built Wall still got 3 layers of fence as default? I found it can fire arrow on my troops also, not big damage at all, but wonder where the arrows come from?

If so, the difference of having wall and non-wall is the gate can be closed or open.

Thanks alot. I really enjoy the new version.

When I tried my other campaigns they all worked and I noticed the building pics had been updated. I thought this wasn't save compatible, but I guess the trait system won't be activated. Any who I will start a new campaign just incase.

I'm having an issue with the 2.5 launcher (BI.exe on Vista). The launcher program quits after about 10 seconds with no error message. (It's always about the time the music loop would repeat, but that might just be a coincidence.) If I try to hit "Play" quickly with the default settings (Armenia, BI.exe, etc.), the program still quits right away with no error message.

Since I used some mods on 2.1a and there was a warning about that in the 2.5 download thread, I was using a clean install of 2.0. That didn't work, like I said, so I reinstalled 2.0 and tested it by launching a campaign, which worked fine; but once I installed 2.5, the launcher did the same thing. The 2.5 installation looked like it worked every time, so I have no idea what the issue could be.

Thanks for your help, and thanks again to everyone involved for making Roma Surrectum such an awesome game!

Is the launcher still present in the task manager?
Also, could you please copy and paste the launcher (which is situated in RSII/launcher/Roma Surrectum II.exe) in your documents?
Try to run it there, and tell me if there is still the same issue.

There should be errors about missing files, no background and music, and it won't be working, but it should not just disappear.

The issue with hoplites is still there :/ Here I was hoping I would finally be able to enjoy this mod to the fullest without becoming near suicidal with irritation because of disobedient tropps every battle :/.

Ah well, guess I'll just keep playing Rome and barbarians and leave the greek factions alone .

There are three different player formations, and four different AI formations files provided. Perhaps one of those will solve the issue.

And how do I implement these exactly?

In the launcher, click on "edit RSII parameters", then on "other RSII parameters".

You have RSII installed in the program files I guess. You'll need to run the installer pointing to somewhere else (ie my documents/RS2.5), and then copy and paste those files into your RSII install, overwriting everything.

Norton is a heap of You need to prevent Norton deleting it. Seriously, get another anti-virus like Avast. There are good free ones that don't cause the grief that Norton does.

You have to open Norton, find the log for the EXE file (propably it was quarantained not deleted) then find opitons and choose to return the file to it's origianl location. It worked for me .

Since I just started a Massilian camapign (only one battle yet), what's the problem with the hoplites?

I did assault the hill fort in Taurasia (iirc), and my units had some pathfinding issues:

Some units got onto the outer part of the wall and did not find back. I messed up with the screenshot I made, so I can't show it

Also, units are able to go up the steep wall (green). However, they could not pass that red area, which seems odd as it is flat and empty.

    Together, this seemed weird.

    Anyways, I'm having a blast!

I'm afraid there's not a whole lot that can be done about that.
Norton probably block every unsigned exe, so you'll have to disable it to install RS.

Norton also reports RS22.cab as being infected. Not to mention my legal steam copy of Arma 2.
It is incredibly paranoid to the point of annoyance.

So you either have to copy the ones in the main data folder, or start the campaign, set your preferences, and then exit and edit it.

Hillforts are, as they were, difficult to fight in and take. This is not a bug, necessarily, it is an 'obstacle'.

Massalia is a Greek city, but if you are playing the Romans, they also have an Engineering trait of their own.
Opening the RS2 preferences in the launcher and saving, saved those settings to ALL RS2 campaign folders, luckily

Ontopic, a problem i've got is that the campaign map seems to lack spaces in 2-word names. Maybe it has always been like that, but i never noticed before in 2.1.

    Really small nitpicking bug.
When starting a Massalian campaign at the screen which lets you select the difficulty, arcade battles, manage all settlements etc. The campaign map picture in the lower left shows Syracuse, not Massalia.

Okay, Further problems I assume you meant preferences, wich doesn't open. With the simple message that preferences cant be opened. Tried to open the preferences editor directly wich didn't work either :S

The problem I'm having is hoplites refusing to obey orders, stopping well before where i ordered them to go. This might seem like a small issue (and for a normal person I guess it is) but with hoplites being an important part of my battle line and them refusing to go where they are needed results in me ripping my hair of my skull.

Then go in data/important_stuff/alternate_player_formations and copy/paste the content of one of the folder into data.

As for the preferences editor refusing to open, I'd say that's because it does not have the permission to open the file.
Is it in your program files?
